Is it just me or is anybody else seeing some Tombstone influences with some of these characters? Particularly The Marshall looks an awful lot like Kurt Russell.
They look awesome regardless. |

I need the sharpshooter figure, who is almost 100% identical to Tom Selleck's look in Quigley Down Under, one of the finest westerns ever made.

Are they supposed to look similar to popular Western characters or is that just us projecting because we like those movies?

A little bit of both I think. I believe they are "inspired" by classic western movies, characters, mythology. That of course makes them perfectly legal.

Makes sense. I'd love to use one of these to make a rocking Jonah Hex.

So, these would fit in scale with Marvel Universe figures and GI Joe? They look amazing. Wish this was the standard used for MU and Star Wars figures.

As one of the three partners bringing this lineup to KS campaign, let me address some of the questions you've asked.
Firstly, you can get tons of info on our FB page, as that's where most of it had been passed out: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1693604734243240/ The active Kickstarter link is here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...?ref=user_menu Our group of three includes Smalljoes.com owner, myself, and our partner. My partner and I started this project about 5 years ago, when we purchased the prototypes from the defunct Dusty Trails 1:18 line shown at Toy Fair in 2001. During the design phase of the project we brought on Boss Fight Studio to do control art for our sculptor and early presentation art shown at the GI Joe convention in Colorado earlier this year. Our lineup consists of 15 regular figures all inspired by Western Myths and Legends taken from all sources. There are even a few homages to vintage Western action figure lines in there built using our original parts. The figures are 3.75 inches tall, and the articulation is the exact same as the fantastic Marauder Task Force figures, so these will "pop & swap" at the waist for customizing. They each have 16 points of articulation as well as removable hats, vest, belts, holster, weapons and gear. We have plans in place for at least another four series of figures including horses, women, Native Americans, Cavalry, townsfolk and just about any other Western icon you can think of. For the latest information and updates, keep an eye on the Facebook page. Thanks!

I'll have full color reveals up late tonight on FB or first thing in the morning for the new KS exclusive "KP" Trooper. You can always catch the latest info here:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/1693604734243240/ And on the KS page here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...s-1-18th-actio It will be updated here on TA as well, but it may take a couple of days, as things are busy-busy-busy!

I am a little disappointed, would have liked Danny Glover from Silverado as the sharpshooter.

Sorry buddy, can't do movie likenesses or actor likenesses with a lot more money for a license. That is a great way to get sued.

Latest updates from the KS page:
You've asked for it, and as a result of the gracious agreement by a majority of our "All-IN!" pledge backers, we are going to make the Badlands Vigilante available to non-"All-IN!" pledges. But wait! Like all good things, this is going to require getting a little dirty. The Badlands Vigilante will be a "faux" unlock once two requirements are met. The first step towards this unlock is that we must reach 555 pledges or more (at the time of posting we needed to add an additional 224). For a new pledge to count towards the total for this unlock, it must be at $100 or above. If backers can get these two steps taken care of before the KS campaign is over, then all backers whose pledge level is at $100 or more, will be able to add-on the Badlands Vigilante for $25 each plus combined shipping with your other reward items. ⦁ 555 or more pledges total ⦁ All new pledges must $100 or higher to count towards the total ⦁ Eligible pledges levels are $100 or above before adding the Badlands Vigilante figure In addition and by way of reward for agreeing to share, the "All-IN!" level packages and above will now have a Garrison KP Trooper added to their loot at no extra charge, and be eligible to purchase a second copy of the Badlands Vigilante for $25. This is option is limited to "All-IN!" packages and above for driving the funding of this project at the highest levels. So, like, tweet, share, or telegraph our information everywhere. Tell your family, your friends, your co-workers, anyone with a passing interest in action figures or the American West. With our group of Regulators working together, this should be easy as we gallop towards full funding. There does remain one "add-on" item that will be listed once the color renders are done. This final "add-on" will be included with the "All-IN!" package (and above), and will be available to purchase to all other backer levels. We will announce what it is after the color sheets for the Buck-A-Roos and Boot Hill Loot are completed later this week and start to be revealed. First two composites are ready to show the colors on the Buck-A-Roos blank figure and have been added to the KS page. Colors were done by Catrina at Boss Fight Studio, and composites by trusty old buddy, David. Be sure to read the special notes on each guy, as there may be a surprise or two in there.

Another update today showcasing the Buck-A-Roos blanks #3 and #4.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch we are about to hit the $100K milestone in pledges. Just around the corner from that is full initial funding and then unlocks. As we broke $100K today, here are a few words:
Guys, no pressure, but now is the time when we need backers to really step up and start pushing this KS and it's info to everyone else. We've gotten some major big steps out of the way, but just take a minute once a day from now to the end and post the KS link somewhere. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, a forum, a blog...anywhere. We have to start looking outside the usual group of action figure fans and try reaching those people who just like the Old West in video games, literature, and on TV. To do that successfully is going to take a concerted effort on your part. We are pushing it everywhere too, but it's going to have to be all of us doing it, to make some headway with that crowd. Seriously, just take one minute a day and put a link somewhere. Mention it to someone. That's all it's going to take, and I hope you think that the rewards will be worth the effort in a little over a year when these figures start rolling in. Thanks! -CFT

Okay, here is the break we have all been waiting for. An anonymous donor who very much believes in our project has reached out, and has indicated that they would be willing to pledge match a set dollar amount to our campaign with only one caveat. They are willing to pledge match up to $10,000 to the KS, BUT only at the "All-IN!" level or above. Their thought is to use the money they have to gain ground on our total as quickly as possible. We believe that this is a good plan, and have agreed. So, beginning today, any new pledge at the "All-IN!" level or any pledge that upgrades from a lower pledge level will be matched for the dollar amount increase. That means a new pledge will be at the full amount ($450), and any upgrade to an "All-IN!" will be matched at the increase in that existing pledge amount ($115 + $335 = $450). This is a serious chance for us to move up very quickly towards unlocks, which is what we are all looking for. Take a moment, do a little math, and jump in on this KS campaign if you are interested in the products. This is also a great chance to bring in friends/family/other collectors and have their pledges count the most. Don't let this chance pass you by! Current totals: 352 Backers (up 21 on our Badlands Vigilante unlock) Current pledge total: $101,124 (80% funded towards initial goal) Days remaining: 22 "All-IN!" pledges: 135

Here are some more updates for stretch goal items and color guide for the remaining Buck-A-Roo, and the first three Boot Hill Loot accessory sets. As you can see, some were designed to specifically match body parts from the Bucks.
We forged ahead really nicely this weekend and are just over $10k from initial funding and there is still about $5k remaining on the pledge matches from our anonymous donor. Be sure to like, share, and tweet with your friends, family and fellow collectors and let's see if we can't know out the initial funding goal in the next 24 hours!

Pursuing licensing is currently out of our budget. Once we get this first series into production, we'll revisit that and see what can be done. I know the Mr. Storch has mentioned us on his FB page and I've reached out to a couple other celebs (James Hampton & Burton Gilliam), but for now there just isn't the money to do it.

Last Stand at Kickstarter Creek!
As I noted yesterday (and many times before over the last several weeks) we've been eyeing a couple of solutions for providing a good value for the "All-IN!" backers, and it's taken some finagling. We value the commitment necessary to support our freshman outing of action figures, and have stated from the beginning that supporters at that level deserve rewards for bearing the larger portion of financial burden for all others involved. To ensure a reasonable return for your pledge (beyond seeing the line made), we are going to add an additional 5 unique characters to your pledge level. These figures will be automatically added, and will become available to "All-IN!" backers (and above) along with the initial offerings and the added "Most Wanted" 5 pack of mug shots. "All-IN!" reward level: Marshal Territories Lawman Trail Boss Saloon Bartender Ranch Hand KP Trooper Sharpshooter Fire Brigadier Cowpuncher Man in Black Cardinal Red T-Shirt Sticker Boot Hill Loot Gear #1 Boot Hill Loot Accs #1 Buck-A-Roo #1 Most Wanted head 5 pk Badlands Vigilante As you may note, the KP Trooper is now automatically added instead of being reliant on the unlock of the Badlands Vigilante to the rest of the pledges. You will still have the option to add a second Badlands Vigilante if those unlock conditions are met (it appears they will be) before the end of the KS campaign. Also included is the first set of Boot Hill Loot (accs & gear) as well as the first Buck-A-Roo automatically. We hope that this guarantee of items whether they are unlocked or not, will give you confidence to maintain your pledge and see this lineup come to market. Once again, thank you for your support at these high levels. This is the last set of changes we'll be making to the KS campaign. As stated above, and previously, once the budget structure is set, it's very difficult to move things around, but we've managed to do it to reward the "All-IN!" backers. Once again, thank you for your support! -CFT These changes will necessitate a change in the placement of the characters unlocks, but not alter their order in the levels at which characters will become available to the public at large. Check for those changes later today.
