Here we go, another top 10 from me. Marvel and Hasbro has already given us a pretty great roster, including multiple versions of Hulk, Thor, Ironman, Wolverine, and Spiderman. So lets look at other Alternate versions I wanna see in todays Top 10 MU Alternate Versions I want to see
The only rules is A : The first version of the figure sucks and we need a new one. and B : They have to have atleast 1 figure featuring the character already made. On with the Countdown. 10 : Wasp We already have Giant Man/Goliath and we are getting Yellowjacket. How about the new Modern Wasp. a nice new look for Hank Pym and a homage to his deceased Ex. He makes number 10 ont he list, cause he would look pretty awesome, and be easy to do thanks to the AIM body 9 : Angel Archangel is really in demand right now, and we are soon to get an awesome X-Force version, but lets also remember the other side of Warren. Angels light side would be great and easy. New head, repaint of the Spiderman body, 2 holes in the back for feather wings 8 : Silver Savage We are getting World War Hulk, how about the Silver Savage? Awesome version of the Surfer with some nice webgear. Great for any collector 7 : Modern Ghost Rider the Ghost Rider we got is awesome, but I want black leather and spikes! And wheres his Freakin Bike!? How could you release Ghost Rider without his bike!? 6 : Punisher MAX The Punisher is the only man who shows up on this list twice, and with good reason. He falls under both Rule A and B. We have 3 Punishers and each one sucks. The first Punisher we got had this crappy body, terrible head, and GIANT HANDS! could hardly grip his guns. Then we get him again, black gloves and boots, Better head, same darn body. and Lastly we get the Target two pack. Substantially better than the first body wise, but the head needs work(I put head from Punisher 2 on Punisher 3 :3) To solve this, I want Punisher Max. Trench coat(Optional removal), the slender buff body from Target, but with both hands able to hold guns, and a new head. and follow him up with a GIJoe armys worth of weaponry. and it makes you wonder, what Punisher could I want to see more than this beast? Check number 3 5 : AOA Sunfire Sunfire got a awesome look update thanks to the Age of Apocalypse. With Apocalypses future release, and him doning this look after MDay, I really want this awesome sunfire. 4 : Classic Luke Cage The last luke we got was great, but this Luke has some 70s Soul. His appearance says it all 3 : FrankenCastle Just think to yourself "How freakin awesome would this guy look in your collection". Big as the Hulk, with all the tubes and such. The only bad thing is he wouldnt be really feasable in a regular wave. thats why I say "Hey Hasbro! You got next years Marvel Digital Comics Exclusive! Or You got a great SDCC Exclusive!" would look awesome with the propper paint. 2 : Madrox Lets face it, the Multiple Man we got sucks. Same old spiderman body, but its his Ultimate look. We want X-Factor Madrox!! 1 : Storm Lets face it. You only got Mohawk Storm for Nightcrawler. Only the most diehard wants 80s storm. Everybody else wants a more classic Storm. Long double cape, Long hair. Optional headdress. Either we get 70s Storm, Jim Lee Storm, or Modern Storm. she was leaked in her classic look on ebay, but Hasbro has said nothing about her, so we must wait for our African Goddess. |

DAREDEVIL
This guy was the 1st to use that notorious body that is infamous for having a torso that is too short. This body was later used for the likes of Moon Knight, Union Jack, and countless others. It's the reason the fandom jumped for joy when they learned earlier this year that the mold was retired. Until fans realized that Black Panther from the Target packs used the same body. Daredevil didn't have much accessories....only 1 of his billy clubs. The body was not the slender frame we are used to. The left hand couldn't hold anything. Being that Daredvil's current series has kicked ass, and that this guy is a known Marvel staple, I think we ought to get an all new figure.

Yeah, we are in desperate need of a new DD figure. A dark "Shadowland" variant would be nice, too.

I am including the XMen Origins line since they have already reused a mold in the MU line:
1) Maverick (a little smaller please) 2) Sabertooth (from the XMO 2 packs, also a little smaller please) 3) Deadpool (in XMen and XForce uniforms) 4) Punisher (use the Ultimate Nick Fury body and coat with a not hideous head please!) |

I think Mavricks already a bit small. And Sabretooth is supposed to be huge. Why would you want ether of these figs smaller? And why if you could have a redo from the XMO line, why would someone not pick Gambit? He's a fan fav and that fig sucks in every way one could imagine. Poor articulation, poorly stylized, no ankle and one mother loving ugly head.
And I liked Gambit a lot. I wouldn't mind a few repaints of that figure. |

Maverick was small? Put him up next to the MU line and I think you will see this is not the case. Maverick looks about the size of the abomination that was the first MU Punisher. As for Sabertooth, the one in the XMO line (again the 2 packs in costume, not the movie figure or the plain clothes figure) is huge compared to any other figure in MU or XMO. He is taller than the Hulk, Colossus and Juggernaut to name a few.

And I liked Gambit a lot. I wouldn't mind a few repaints of that figure. I think you can see from the image here that Mavrick is the same size of Wolverine and Guardian. Both of whom are shorter than all the other MU figures with the exception of the DD mold. And I don't count them. Hasbro has basically admitted that that mold was a mistake. And as you can also see Captain America is almost a head taller than Mavrick. But he is in no way the same size of the first MU Punisher. And Sabretooth is a good size but not really all that big. At least not if you compare the toy to the comics. He's about the same if not smaller than he should be. I agree with Ludovicotek, that the issue is more with Hulk and Juggernaut being way too short. I also think that the Colossus is a bit too tall And that Gambit sucked. The coat looked like something off a carny and the articulation sucks all the way through. He doesn't even have an ankle joint. I like Gambit a lot and bought this guy and all it did was make me wish they would make another. Start from scratch with a new Gambit Hasbro! |

Maverick is perhaps the same height as Guardian and Wolverine. Hell, Wolverine isn't the same size as Guardian. Maverick's head is about the size of the Punisher's head (meaning LARGE). Also, Mavericks body could be streamlined quite a bit (your picture has him at an angle so you can't really see just how wide the figure is). As far as the figures you have shown. Most folks on the board have complained that the Wolverine figure mold (the one you are showing) is waaaayyy to large for a character that supposed to be short and somewhat squat. The body is to big for Wolverine and the height is also off (Wolverine I believe is 5' 3" tall in the comics). Based on Wolverines proportions Sabertooth would have to be that large but the issue is that both figures are too big for the MU line. On pure height scale Wolverine should be the shortest of the whole crew at 5'3". Captain America is 6'2". Sabertooth (all according to Marvel.com) is 6'6". Based on those numbers the heights of the figures are way off. As for size, Sabertooth is 275 and Cap is 220 yet the figure is probably about double the build size and ST's head is the size of a watermelon compared to Punisher/Maverick. Sense not this makes. Me thinks you are confusing "small" with "tall". I wasn't referring to Maverick's height. Maverick is NOT the same size as Guardian and Wolverine.

I only used Wolverine and Guardian as reference points because they are shorter than the Capt, Human Torch, Spiderman (black), Iron Man, Hawkeye, and all other MU molds (for the most part). I was not in any way trying to justify those two figures scale in relationship to what they are in the comics. But when you remove Mavricks shoulder pads, you can see that he is a rather lean figure. His chest is thin and torso is just a little smaller. As you can see in the picture of him and Guardian, his chest is smaller than Guardians while the two torsos are about the same. This would mean that Mavrick is about the same size if not a bit smaller than one of MU smallest molds. As for the head, it is a little big but this is fine because he wares a helmet and a helmet should be bigger than ones head as to fit around said head. So I just don't see any real logic in your argument. It's cool if you want another version, but the facts are what they are. Now I think the shoulder pads are a bit bulky. I would also like to see him a bit more streamlined. Even a bit taller but no more wider than he is now. But all and all I think he looks really good. One of my favs from the XMO line. And as for comic hight and size charts, we all know that the characters are subject to take on the styles and sizes that the artists give them. It goes up and down and usually ends up in a range that seems to suit the character and his fans best. For example, Wolverine was originally under 5 feet tall. The character evolved based on his popularity. What was meant to be a mean little low key villain turned out to become one of the most well known and loved characters in comic history. Another good example of this is cable, as he became more and more popular his image transformed from a huge wide and bulky older guy, to a leaner prettier version. Sabretooth back in the day was shorter and leaner but has grown throughout the years to be much larger. I think they summed this up as an additional mutation. But he is as you can see smaller and leaner than the Punisher. His head is actually a bit smaller as well. |

We do need these characters. But this thread is discussing the variant versions of characters that have already been released. There is another thread for characters we want but still don't have. Oh, and if they don't give us Dr. Strange in 2011 I'm going to cry. |

^ Doctor Strange, Falcon and Silver Samurai and listed in Wal-Mart's database. Most likely they'll be hitting in 2011. Professor Xavier was hinted at in last Q&A. A Masterworks Fin Fang Foom has been rumored. Sue and Mockingbird would not shock me in 2011. Neither would Sinister since I think they could do one via the Colossus body. Patriot obviously would be easy via Bucky. I suspect the X-23 body will be hot-swappable and hopefully the gold standard for a couple years to lead us into an awesome Elektra and Psylocke. I would be fine if they re-deco's Artic Threat Storm Shadow as Fantomex.
Also, from the OP list, Classic Luke Cage will be coming with classic Iron Fist in a comic pack, and classic Storm will be in the X-Men 6-pack. But really, it seems that it would make the most sense to fill in the gap of Thor's comic line via the MU in 2011 since it will be sparse. They're already doing it with the frost giant. They should do one or two Thor waves. Or, hey, maybe the movie will be bigger than they thought and they'll expand Thor's action figure line-up. Not getting a comic 4" Odin, Sif, Balder and Warrior's Three will be a tragedy. Last edited by Prem1x; 12-19-2010 at 06:31 PM.. |

Nice list Tarq, but Marvel Zombies won't happen any time soon. Marvel has said on a couple occasions that they aren't doing anything more with that theme and I think Hasbro has said they're staying away from it too.

My fantasy would be that they'd just release a boxset of 6 or something with the figures. I'd imagine they'd be hard to sell single carded...might as well just lump em all together |
