Nice wave. Luge Cage in his 'generic black pedestrian' costume would be great for civilians. Bucky's SO going into my custom fodder bin. Dig the dual Tommy guns. I might make a Minutemen Comedian out of him. The Widow looks delicious in her card art. Shouldn't she come with a Dragunov or a Kalashnikov rather than an M16 with attached grenade launcher? And good lord, that Thor is LITERALLY made of win and god.

Getting Thor, Bucky, and 1st appearance Cap. To be honest, primarily getting Bucky because I like him as New Cap, and I have New Cap from the Gigantic Battles set. The advantage that this Bucky figure has over the New Cap figure is that he doesn't use the Daredevil body, which ought to be retired alongside the Punisher body!
It's a weird mix of figures though, Modern Cap and New Cap with non-Daredevil body would have been preferable, with 1st Appearance Cap and Bucky in a comic pack. ITCHING to see Extremis Iron Man. LOVE that design! |

Even though I'm really into the classic looks of most of Marvel's heroes{growing up in that era}, I gotta say I love the Thor figure. I'm alittle disappointed in the sparkly flakes in the Widows outfit. Luke Cage does nothing for me with that awful beany. Bucky isn't half bad and I really need that Cap to replace his head with the SW one to finally have a classic Cap.

Wasn't Black Widow suppose to come with inter-changeable wigs for her undercover disguises...?

They all look great to me. I hope Widow's wigs are in there somewhere. That would be a let down. Bucky's vest looks odd, like its connected to his collar and belt. Still okay for me, though. I hope the Thor paint jobs come out well. The sculpt looks fantastic. I hope Extremis is coming too (like Vision pics were withheld before)

I'm digging widow, thor, and cage, but I'll probably skip bucky and cap.
Extremis Ironman better be coming in this wave too. Now that I finally figured out where all the armors are from. It'll be great to finally add the right modern ironman to my collection. (The series 01 wave 01 armor was in the giant size astonishing X-Men, which helps me figure out the timeline now.) I'm a little disappointed that widow doesn't have the swappable hair they were talking about before, but I guess that means we can expect to see many variants of her down the road. |

Juggernaut in wave 2 2010...Sure about that? I saw no mention of this at Comic-Con beyond the prototype image, which only stated that he would be a 2010 release and did not have any particular wave associated with him. I believe many have placed the assumption that he will be released in this wave because his protoype was first revealed at the end of all the wave 1 and 2 2010 revelations.
I am absolutely, positively, NOT opposed to his inclusion of wave 2, however . I will just not get my hopes too high at the moment. At least we have a wave full of awesome on the way and that will tide me over for the moment.

Uh oh---look closely at the Black Widow costume---I think she's going to end up a lot like the 2-pack Spider-Woman----a blue "wash" that pretty much ruins the look. Kinda hard to tell, but I'm currently leaning towards "molded in metallic blue plastic with a heavy black wash all over".
Dear Hasbro---stop with the washes! You're ruining some of my most-wanted figs. Just make them black! Pure black. It'd look 100x better than your attempts at "highlighting" the figures. Last edited by David Hingtgen; 12-04-2009 at 02:34 AM.. |

Is it a blue highlighting or more of a metallic blue finish on her paint? I think Hasbro is trying to figure out how to make black suited figures that don't look cheap (ala SW Black Spidey). In hand she might look much better. The lighting and touchup on these photos always throws things off.
These are pretty poor photos. BW's belt is too high. Thor and Cap have poor paint apps. They could have done better. Juggy definitely will not be in same wave as Thor since together they would add too much cost (and might not fit in the case). Last edited by Prem1x; 12-04-2009 at 08:16 AM.. |

The blue wash on black widow is much appreciated, that's how she's supposed to look even in the comics, unless it's the short hair version that was solid black. This blue wash version and hair style is how she appeared in the current Ironman V5 Stark Disassembled arc. Since I'm going for all modern figures, this is perfect for my taste.
Juggernaut is 2010 sometime, they never said a wave for him, just everyone assumed wave 2 since everything else shown was wave 1 and 2. He's more likely later with the other mutants yet to come, alongside the fan choice figures. |

Luke Cage, Black Widow and Thor will be added to the collection.
Not sure about Bucky and Retro Cap yet.

Ugh, Hasbro if your reading this,If you decide to not release this series and replace it with some characters that I may actually buy, I would have no hard feelings lol.
You can add Luke Cage to the list of "Wal-Mart Regulars" too, along with Ronin,Hand Ninja & The Thing. Last edited by F1sh1000; 12-04-2009 at 11:40 AM.. |

Nah, Cage will sell. He's the first non-masked black guy and he's huge (and modern)! If anything pegwarms from this its going to be FA Cap if they double-pack him.
