Looks like it didn't make it.
But, it looks like their web guy hasn't woke up yet to turn it off, so you can still order. It just let me add it to my cart anyways. And I did that last year. . .I subbed early in the morning on the day after the sale ended. But I'm not subbing this year Just can't afford it anymore. Hopefully they'll put these in the DC Unlimited retail line (I think they could squeeze any of them in except Phantom Stranger)

MattyCollector.com Clubs Online Store - 2013 DC Universe Club Infinite Earths Subscription Surely you know they have a meter on their webpage for this.

I dunno how accurate that meter is...I doubt its up to date. It would be nice if they said "we need to sell 1,000 DCIE subs" and every time someone subs we had a counter giving us actual numbers of subs sold to total subs needed. But if that was done they would only get the bare minimum subs maybe a few over...I'm sure they will push it over...so close...either they give us a tiny extension more...OR what? shut it down and say sorry? I think they see they are soo close thats a lot of money to turn down...and no way would they screw over that many people after all the hype and talk over this line. I could only imagine the uproar if they came forward and said hey we were 5% away...but we will go forward anyway but the figures are now gonna cost $30 + S/H LOL there would be chaos! I think they will do whats right and stay true to the fans...I hope!

Based on toy guru's video about how much it costs to make figures (fewer made means more expensive each), you could be right about them making the figures anyway but charging even more for them. Maybe $25 each or something.
But those that have bought the sub have entered a contract. Mattel can't just go and change the price. The existing orders would have to be cancelled and customers enter a new agreement with the new terms. I **think** somewhere here on the boards someone said they said if the sub didn't happen the five figures we've been shown would be produced and sold in day-of sales. BTW: "money" is not their goal -- profits are. And basically they said if they don't reach the min number of subs, it wouldn't be profitable.

exactly...they need to make a profit, I know people go back and forth over the "it costs $25 to make these figures" I'm sure its not $25 but its not cheap...so they do make a small profit off the $25 price. the bare minimum sub total they set to reach for is probably a little higher than the profit line.
I know I said they should sell the five figures shown at SDCC as day of sales....but I was just making a suggestion. don't know if they would actually do that. I agree with you...when we purchase a sub we are entering a contract, I don't know how they would or could go and change the terms and prices without giving the subscribers a chance to back out...in which case the whole thing would crumble...so that whole idea that they would bump the prices up is questionable to me...not sure how they could go about doing that. well I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this all goes through and we all can go about our business as usual...the past few weeks have been chaotic over all this. |

well as of right now the Thromometer indicates it did not go though but in a few hours the truth will be known. And as for Money and Profit being different its the same the money they make would be profit. It all depends on MSRP and Store Profit if Mattel would release that number then we could figure what they are worth

Suspicious ending or not, we will now get the 7 2013 sub figures shown at SDCC plus 6 more unannounced figures that otherwise would never have seen the light of day!
No retooled bucks, so don't get your hopes up for Granny Goodness or Uncle Marvel or any other odd shaped figures, but I have to admit I am pleased with the news. |

A DOOMSDAY would be GREAT!!! I can't wait to see what we else we will be getting later next year! hopefully we can keep it going for a few more years....I know we had to push further to get them to start tooling for 2014...but since we didn't reach that...does it mean after 2013 its done? or will we have a chance to save the line yet again?? |

Wait, what? How did it get that high up? I was on the site when I got up at 730, it was only at 90%, and when I went to order The Watchmen sub, they closed them before I completed my order, so it did not go through. There is no way the thing shot up 20% in two minutes.

The only oversized figure for 2013 is Mollah and Brain. There are no others, and since Doomsday requires new tooling, he will not happen in 2014 either. Maybe in a movie year. Wait...

Glad it went through for I can buy 3 figures! Maybe! LOL. Mattel makes me laugh and sometimes I hate myself for buying their product. Seems their scare tactics are working!

No offense, but I hope Mattel only makes enough product for those who subscribed since it would serve cherry pickers right to not get anything.
