NECA’s Terminator 2: Judgement Day T-800 Ultimate 7″ Scale Figure was one of my favorite figures of 2015. It was easily one of the top 2 Ultimate figures released by NECA. They are continuing the T2 releases in the Ultimate line with both a Sarah Connor and a T-1000. Today we have a review and gallery for the T2 Ultimate 7″ Scale Sarah Connor Figure. Overall
Sarah Connor comes a flapped window box that fits in with the other Ultimate figures. The packaging has the same blue and black design of the T-800 box, and the T-100 will also feature this design style. It’s a nice bit of continuity in packaging that will allow these to display wonderfully together. Sarah sits in a plastic tray and includes a rifle, shotgun, handgun and knife. The tactical vest is made of a softer rubber and is removable if so desired (I left it on as it looks great on the figure). Also included are three interchangeable head sculpts and a printed backdrop.
The figure features an all-new Sarah Connor sculpt. The detailing is excellent throughout. Each sculpted piece has its own texture to it, giving things like the clothing and weapons a very lifelike look to them. The head sculpts all feature very solid likenesses of Linda Hamilton. The third, “Long Hair” head sculpt doesn’t feel quite as strong as the other two. The hair piece, which is a separate sculpt, seems to sit a bit too high, giving it a wig look. The other two head sculpts, though, are pretty stellar and spot on. Each one represents very different parts of the film. Of the three, I’d say the sculpt with the hair in her eyes is my favorite. That one seems to really capture the essence of the character. The head sculpts are fairly easy to swap out, but you may want to use a little heat if the joints feels like it’s sticking.
Articulation is handled extremely well here. The figure has over 25 points of articulation. The waist is ball jointed, allowing for more natural torso poses. Joints for the figure were all solid with no breakage or paint locking issues. The thinner build for Sarah Conner, compared to the bulkier characters like the T-800, really allow for a stronger range of movement in the legs and arms. Paint is also handled nicely with only very minor paint bleeds on some of the smaller applications. Each of the weapons fits perfectly in the figures hands and the movement allowed for both hands to grab onto the weapons if desired.
In the end, this is a stellar release. It already looks great with the T-800, and should match up just as nicely with the T-1000. With a price under $25, you get a lot of figure for the money. I’d say this is a must own for T2 fans.
