I started by using the Evolutions Qui-Gon, who was a good figure but still lacked a little something. A repaint of the face did wonders, but the Mustafar Anakin that came out at the same time had the ball jointed hips, and I wanted Qui-Gon to have the same. Cracking the Qui-Gon waist was not so bad, but the Anakin sucked, and did not make it. But, the thighs were fine, and that what I needed. I added the Qui-Gon lower legs on to the Anakin thighs and replaced them in the waist. A little loose, but wrapping one of those clear rubber bands around each peg tightened them up. The plus side of this was that it made Qui-Gon taller, which looks better. The first pic shows the height difference, but not the repainted face. The Obi-Wan in some of the pics is also custom.

That's a really nice bash. I always hoped for a better likeness of Liam Neeson for that figure, and this one is definately the closest one they've done. Great job combining the elements from all the best figures.

Yeah, the likeness is actually not that bad once you give a little work. Liam Neeson is my favorite actor (ever since Darkman) and so Qui-Gon quickly became one of my favorite Star Wars characters. I've been waiting for years for a good version, and the Evolutions was the closest we will probably see due to the lack of interest in making toys from TPM.

Did you make the custom robes yourself?

Oh yeah, forgot about that one....the robe is from the Saga Legends Saesee Tiin, and on the Obi-Wan it's Qui-Gon's from the evolution pack. The one packed with Qui-Gon was too light in color, but perfect for Obi-Wan.
