Looks awesome. We need a solid reboot of the show, that is for an older audience. We also need the Rick and Morty version. Guessing he will be like 18". Hopefully the QC is good.

Finding a way to cover the legs... clever, clever. But its Blitzway... probably going be pushing 600ish... Wonder if Bandai would do something similar with a DX Go-Lion.

It had potential but it really was bad. Stick with the original voltron.

I love Voltron and grew up on the original series. However, people are blinded by their nostalgia. The new series was better than original Voltron in every way. Better characters and animation. The new Voltron design is also awesome. Giving Voltron a more mature look. I still love the original Voltron but people don’t give the new Voltron the credit it deserves.

Yeah, the original Voltron is one of my all time favorites. But, it also is nearly impossible to sit down and rewatch because of how cringe it is to me now as an adult.

The newer Netflix show was far from perfect, but people say they want the "more mature Voltron for an older audience", and that show was exactly that. Faithful to both the original show and even it's GoLion origins, but still willing to forge a new path.

Absolutely, 100% inarguably better quality than the original series. But that doesn't necessarily make it great.

On the down side, the plot is much slower-moving, there are too many throwaway episodes. Unfortunately it feels like it's stuck between trying to be a kiddie show with a lot of lame plots and dumb jokes, and being something smarter, with a more complex plot and mature storyline.

On the upside, there are some great ideas, the animation is excellent, and the character designs & main cast are good. The lions also look great, but I am REALLY not a fan of the combined mode.

That's probably the one thing the old show does better... the Voltron robot itself is just better-looking.

On topic... this new Voltron figure looks AMAZING. We've been getting a lot of high-end Voltron figures in recent years, so it hardly feels necessary, but the aesthetic details here are gorgeous. The articulation is a huge plus.

Probably too rich for my blood, but maybe this means I'll be able to pick up a SOC Voltron on the secondary market for a good price soon.

So basically double the SOC. Quite the expenditure, but when looking at the two this has a lot more of what I really want. I guess we'll see.

I’ve never spent anything close to that on a figure but hey, life is short. Anyone else
seriously considering picking this one up?

I'll be the guy who says "most" and "epic" shouldn't be beside one another in a sentence. And not everything is epic.

I haven’t had a voltron toy since the 80’s. Was tempted by the Toonami Ultimate but was busy building my transformers collection at the time. The sheer number of accessories and build quality does make this tempting. Easiest way to resist the temptation is the realization of my own impending doom if I ordered two sets (one for Lions and one for robot). I’d find myself divorced so fast. Lol

We did, it's on Netflix and it was awesome.

Anyway, how does this new figure compare to the SOC? I missed out on that one which sucks because they did so much with the lions so they actually resembled lions.

I guess for anyone going in who doesn't have a Voltron Go-Lion version by now would be elated. Price is very steep I'd probably be far more tempted if this was 100-200 cheaper. This is definitely a solo piece at 15" with the LED and accessories so very definitive.
I'm happy with the Bandai SOC version I have even though some connections/joints are a bit loose. He stands scaled pretty well with other SOC figures and kaiju. If I didnt have other versions as well as the Toonami version and more room I would be tempted. Honestly would probably have some regret if this has great QC and better overall execution than the SOC. Still looks great.
