Star Wars has always been primarliy 3 3/4 inch focused since I had the original figures back in the 80s. But now as a collector I'm really liking the 6 inch scaled toys that Hasbro and Mattel produces due the detail and articulation. Would you buy Star Wars toys in this scale if Hasbro produced them?

They had them. They were called Star Wars Unleashed. They came out around the year 2000-2002. I have the Darth Maul, Darth Vader and Boba Fett. Some of the sculpting was a little too stylized for my tastes, like with the Darth Maul. But the Darth Vader was absolutely beautiful. Only downside to this line was the almost complete lack of articulation. They were more like little statues.
That being said, there are definitely some characters that I would die to have in 6" form. Not sure that I would go out and buy every character released, but there are some that would would really really want in that scale. 6" Gamorrean Guard would be pretty awesome. |

I would really be into 8", but I don't know about 6. A couple inches doesn't really justify building a new collection to me.
Besides that, I tend to associate 6" with all the bow-legged crap I used to play with(TMNT, X-Men, Dick Tracy, Star Trek). I secretly despised the figures. |

No wait, I was going to say that I might even pay premium for a few of the key characters (I would order an Episode IV Han Solo right now and have it overnighted) but I can't see collecting a new scale of Star Wars. |

I would probably be all for some of characters done in 6"-8", as long as the articulation/scale were there. I'd like Darth Vader, ROTJ Luke, Bespin Luke, ANH Han, ANH Chewbacca, Boba Fett (ESB or ROTJ), ROTS Obi-Wan, ROTS Anakin, Prequel Yoda, and oh, I don't know, every other Sith/Jedi that appeared in the films.
No, I'm not greedy. Just enthusiastic.

Yes, yes, YES!
I'm not a huge Star Wars fan; I only have a handful of figures...mostly Jedi and Sith. And I'm pretty much done with the line at this point. But if there were a 6-inch line, I would definitely buy them, without a moment of hesitation. That scale would allow better articulation, and possibly better sculpts and likenesses. I think it would be fantastic, and very refreshing. A 6-inch G.I. Joe line would be great, too. I can only imagine the awesomeness of a 6-inch Vader, Maul, Mace Windu, Obi-Wan, Chewie, Boba Fett....and Cobra Commander, Nemesis Enforcer, Snake Eyes, Sgt. Slaughter, Baroness, Pythona....wow. So yeah, count me in! |

Nope, but I understand why people would want them. I pick up SW figures all of the time, not because of the characters, but because they make for good 3 3/4 customs. They have sooOOOo many characters to choose from!
I do have a few of the main characters from the films that I haven't taken apart for other figures. Lando is about as deep as that roster of characters go... |

Ok I am not going to read this one...BUT here is how I feel.
NO, I would not buy these. I have tons of star wars figures. I love them dearly. To have another collectable out there would be pain on my wallet. I think the idea is clear. 6-inch would have beter sculpts, ariculation, accessories. But financially it is not for me. If they were to release such figures they would cost anywhere from 10-20. If they were made by Hasbro then that means another area of Star Wars collectables will have to take a fall. Even on top of that they would have to compete with the other lines that are out there.

Nope.
While I do have an extensive 6" Iron Man figure collection (all but one of the ML figures and all of the IM1 figures), it's only because he's my favorite character ever. All the rest of my collection is 3 3/4" stuff and that's all I really want. 95% of my collection is in that scale. I don't want to start collecting something else. In fact, it really upsets me that Mattel dumps so much into their 6" stuff and then poops out crappy 4" figures. I really wanted decent Green Lantern and Dark Knight figures, but not in the 6" scale. But hey, that's just me. |

I like the 3.75 inch stuff, but if a line was created in 6-inch scale using the style found on Hot Toys 12 inch figures, I'd be all over it.

The extent of my purchases in that line would be Boba Fett and maybe Jango. But that is all. That said, I don't think a 6" line is worth it. It would take up shelf space, be too expensive, and it would be yet another thing to confuse the toy collecting market with YET ANOTHER LINE that would most likely have AWFUL DISTRIBUTION and then get cancelled before they finished the core set of main characters.
I've been collecting Star Wars 3.75/4" since 1996. Even now, I'm ver picky about what I buy - bounty hunters, clones/stormtroopers, main cast, EU... if they do 6 inch it would be even harder for me to find those. |
