Ironically, the only Thundercats toys I ever had as a kid were the 3" PVC figures which also had no articulation. This is not progress.
And WTF is the point of making vehicles if the figures can't be placed in/on them? These things better be insanely well sculpted. |

If these things do well, maybe we could get a 4 inch line that moves!

It's unfourtunate.
I do not collect statues unless it's of great importance. I just think that this license is a missed oportunity to get some super articulated 6" and 3 3/4" action figures.

I like to look at this as a start for things to come. I mean who's to say they wont eventually come with action figures. I'd rather have staction figures than no figures at all right now. Let them test the waters and see where the fan base is.

There's a new cartoon in the works, so I'm sure we'll get figures for it.

TRUTH! this could've been AMAZING news. however, staction figures are like peanut butter with no jelly, kool-aid with no sugar...ham with no burger.

Staction Figures don't mean that's all we'll get.
Let's look at he-man for a sec on this. 2k line of figures... Eventually flopped, but it gave way to Staction figures, that sold pretty well, especially hordak... And we know what that led to. MOTUC. If these items do well, we'll be getting other classic inspired lines to come. Besides, by the end of the year, I doubt this will be the last of what we'll see. They seem pretty explicit to tell us this will be the original thundercats, which so far are the only thundercats that exist, so why would that have to be clarified? Besides the rumored Josie and the Thundercats toon that is... |

no articulation means no purchase as far as I'm concerned. Real shame too, I'd really be into a thundercats line that was 6 inch or 3 3/4 inch

Don't shoot the messenger
That's how the company lists them in the article "static action figures" so I won't pick one

Glad to see Thundercats getting some long-awaited attention, but as far as I'm concerned, there are statues and there are action figures...no middle-ground. It's one or the other.
I'll wait until we see photos to form a full opinion. I may change my mind, but right now, just the term "staction figure" tells me these are a pass for this TC fan. I'm all about articulation. I do hope that this leads to quality 6 inch, fully articulated ACTION figures. And I'm actually hoping Mattel can get the rights to make them. And I never dreamed I would say that.... |
