I recently backed the ACTION FORCE Kickstarter and was glad to see it successfully achieved it's funding (now just to see how many characters get unlocked). Personally, I went VIP which gives me 10 figures at around $35 a piece. The figures are very good quality (as you would expect from the creation of Bobby Vala) and I am so excited to get a 6" military line that can keep up with Marvel Legends and Articulated Icons. However, I'm considering increasing my backing as more figures get unlocked.
How do you feel about a 6" military line? Does Action Force give you hope that us collectors can fill the void that GI JOE (HASBRO) just does not seem to be providing the fans? I'd love to hear what levels others funded at and if a 6" military line excites you as a collector? I know I cannot wait to get my hands on them. I love 4" figures, but 6" is kinda the way of the future. Even Star Wars has killed their 4" mission figures in lieu of Vintage and 6" Black Series. How do you feel about Action Force?

How do you feel about Action Force? 6" lines for military figures take away the vehicles aside from motorcycles. That kills it for me for a lot of fun. If I wanted detailed soldiers, I'd go 1:6 scale. Some of those are amazing. Thankfully, there are lines for everyone. Me, I got out of GI joe in the mid 90's and haven't looked back, started collecting marvel superheroes. These Action Force figures do look well designed. Glad for those that want them!

I hear you. The only good 6' vehicles were the couple put out by Hasbro for the Star Wars Black Series. There was the Tie Fighter, Luke's Lanspeeder and Rey's speeder. I cannot recall any others from any other product line either. Maybe if Action Force takes off, they may be able to add some vehicles or diarama materials to make it more fun. Full-scale vehicles would obviously be a challenge. Good points. Anyone else? Last couple days to fund that kickstarter. Where's your mind at?

At $107k with 3 days to go... funded... but not at a level that will get me to buy because the only thing I was waiting on was the SWARM trooper. If they made a small vehicle (something like a POGO Ball or SNAKE armor I would support that- but while I liked vehicles as a kid- I really don't like them as an adult. I don't just throw all my junk in a toybox when I'm done playing with it- so 'as an adult' I just don't have room for a massive 1:12 truck or tank or jet... So I have no interest in collecting 1:12 vehicles for any line of figures... (I do have one FO TIEFighter and that thing was a massive pain to display- it looks cool on the wall- but I don't want anything else like that to deal with.

Pity the really interesting stuff for this campaign is locked behind unobtainable stretch goals. There was a not-GI Joe 6" kickstarter earlier this year with very similar looking figures to these, why not open with the female army builder that there are literally none of on the market?

The good news is there is only 1 hour left in the kickstarter and the SWARM Trooper is almost unlocked. If you want the SWARM Trooper, make your bids now!

I'm in on this line. Can't say I'm at all acquainted with Action Force, but I've been wanting 6" G.I.Joes figures for a while and this will hold me over for a bit. I hope that this line will at least put the notion of a 6" Joes toyline into the heads of someone at Hasbro.

As of right now...sadly no. Joe is way more badass. There is something super cartoonish and kiddie about it to me.
I was hoping it could fill the void but I'm not feelin it. |

I know lots of fanboys really want it, but I don't think that kids, who ultimately make or break a toy line, really want it. Even Fortnite toys, the closest "modern equivalent" toy line, is now shelfwarming after being the hot commodity for months. Kids want superheroes.

Agreed. At the MOST, I can see Hasbro Labs doing some kitbashing of some of the Punisher, Nick Fury, and a few other Marvel Legends to make a limited edition GI Joes 6" set. I really don't see them making a full wave. Their last attempt at the brand was a flop at retail, even with heavy marketing of The Rock on all the packaging. I remember all my local stores pulling the stock off shelves and clearancing them out within a week. Didn't help they released the toys 3 or 4 months before the movie released.

You're killing my hopes with facts... Just let me hope that someone at Hasbro will take notice. I think it would be kinda cool if Hasbro did a wave of G.I.Joes within Marvel Legends. It won't happen, but a guy can dream.

Dude think about it, you're probably right, Marvel could easily absorb or provide for Joe. All those 6 inch legends superhero bodies will need to convert into something different at some point. The first thing they want to do is reuse the superhero stuff with the next biggest franchises. Joe is right there. Even if it's relatively low audience numbers it's financially viable.

As for this line replacing G.I. Joe for Joe fans? I don't see it happening. Joe characters are unique and I don't think Vala wants to straight up copy their designs. However, I can see the potential to kitbash your own Joes from Action Force figures. |
