Christ, that Neomorph looks creepy. This really gets me excited to give Covenant a shot and if I like it enough I'll definitely pick up that Neomorph.

I have not seen Alien: Covenant and I won't spend a single dollar to go see it at the cinema. I don't appreciate Scott's vision of the Alien world anymore. What I do appreciate though is NECA's fine job of pleasing fans of every films (even though not all of these deserve such appreciation IMHO).
This said, I just don't get these designs (not NECA's fault, but the movie makers'). What's with those laughable munchkin xenos anyway? I hope against hope there is a logical explanation in the film. However, after the visually stunning but otherwise stupid and deceiving Prometheus, I highly doubt there is one. I'd rather have a proper sequel to Alien/Aliens (I actually was excited for Neill Blomkamp's idea!) than a prequel trying to explain the origins of one of cinema's most mysterious and terrifying creature ever. It's the principle of a magician's trick: the awe of magic remains until it is explained, and then it's too late to go back. #RipleyLives #HicksLives #NewtLives #BishopFunctions

Yup. I'm all in on these. At least 2 of each. That Neomorph is killer! I have tickets to see it on Sunday, but I may have to get over there sooner.

That tiny guy in the creature pack looks like an action figure for my action figures!

I got out of the film this morning, and I have kind of the same feelings about it that I had about Prometheus, which was not really a whole lot. It's somewhat uneven, lacks any real tension, and has a plot twist you see coming a mile away.
Spoiler: It also pretty much discredits the Predators as having existed in the same universe, as the events in the movie that unfold, particularly in the explanation of the Xenomorph's origins, unravel any sort of time or plot lines that 20th Century Fox had established in earlier films. Very disappointing, especially with a new Predator film on the horizon that could have teased or expanded on such ideas. Neat figures though, and I'll probably get them since I own about 95 percent of the Xenos released thus far, but I'll be honest, the new film has kinda killed some of the love for the franchise. I really think they should just stop already. |

Alien figures are boring. They have no personality like Predator, they all look the same. The movies are good

The Predator figures are boring because they look nothing like they do in the movie.

Well they keep making these random things like King Predator when those were not in the movie. There was only one Predator. Plus, they have yet to make the other characters beyond Dutch.

They're making Pred figures based off more than just the first Predator movie, they've got comic, video game and classic Kenner inspired ones! That's where all the crazy designs come from

Saw Alien Covenant today and I'm still no closer to knowing how the Derelict ship with a cargo hold full of eggs, and a chest-bursted Engineer at the helm, ended up on LV426 (Alien/Aliens). Am I missing something?!? Went in with low expectations and came out disappointed still. Uggh! The image of the Neomorph on the box is a lot cooler than the toy or the creatures in the actual film.

Okay I get what you were saying. As far as humans go they're limited by whose rights they can get in combination with what will sell. With Carl Weathers they have to go to Carl directly to get rights for Dillon but Apollo Creed came with the Rocky license. As for the more colorful/goofy predators that is just NECA pulling from the expanded materials and old Kenner toys to take full advantage of having the Predator license.

These new Xeno designs are cop-outs, just like the movie they're from.
With Covenant, Ridley turned the franchise into a run of the mill horror schlock fest; I'm happy it was super obvious from all the mega marketing, and I didn't need to waste my time watching it. Can't wait to see the train-wreck that Blade Runner will be... |

Scott said its going to be 2-4 more movies before we get to Alien, which would be fine if Prometheus and Covenant were their own stories. At this point, I think I may be done with the Alien franchise outside of the first two. Quote:

Ridley claims he loves the Alien franchise, but that can't be true since all he is doing is pissing over it, just not as hard as the idiots that did 3 and Resurrection.

I haven't seen the movie and i know that it was going to suck, but the one thing that did get my hopes up was the creatures the xenomorph looks alright but I'm kinda disappointed in the look of all of the neomorph creatures I think that they should be smoother in their design that the pictures show. The little ones are just straight up dumb looking sorry NECA i don't know if i am mad at you or at Riley for getting my hopes up at the design of the neomorph

I think Covenant might actually be worse than Res, at least Res attempted character...
Covenant is an effing disaster whether you're an Alien fan or not, and I hate to say it, but if I wasn't a completist I wouldn't touch that creature pack or Neomorph with a barge pole. They look like McDonald's toys in the pics, and in the film they're slick in every sense. I'd just like to state that even the average Alien fan should swerve Covenant. Ridley doesn't give a flying fcuk about you or your time and money. EDIT - Re. Neomorph. By slick in terms of CGI I mean icky and a visual mess when they're smaller.

I'd argue that Alien 3 was BETTER than Covenant. At least that film had a sense of claustrophobia and some sort of tension to it. Much better acting performances as well.
Ressurection is still an unforgivable mess...and is the worst film in the franchise hands down... As for Resurrection, AvP Requiem would probably be a worse movie if you could actually see the movie.

Michael Biehn and Bill Paxton had to be on board for those figures to happen. Even if NECA doesn't nail someone's likeness they still need the rights to do them whether it comes with the license or they have to contact the person directly. I imagine fans would be particularly upset with NECA if they just released some generic-faced figure and called it Dillon when their Apollo Creed figures clearly sport Weathers' likeness.
