As for the light blue xeno I thought it and the original was a homage to the "Aliens" arcade game.

WOW, I have a lot of catching up to do. I am really loving the new figures and their articulation, sculpt, and paint.
It seems as if NECA is redoing some of the older figures. Is there a lot of difference with the alien figures between say the new mantis and gorilla vs the older AVP Hybrid or requiem? |

Ambush was convention exclusive so you're not going to find him anymore, select TRU locations got him in under very limited supply and he easily sold out the fastest. Now eBay or specialty stores (comic shops) are the only way to get Ambush and a price gouge is certain.

The Hybrid and Requiem figures represent Xenos from that film. The Gorilla and Mantis Xenos represent characters from the classic Kenner lines and are unique in that aspect. As far as how they compare in other aspects, they are night and day. The AVP:R figures are closer to the McFarlane era stuff in terms of articulation and sculpt, and the more current stuff from NECA has seen advances in both areas. |

Thats the way it goes though. I like the new figures so I will probably just start here unless I come across some. My first alien was a fluke though. I got it when I was a kid with no clue what it was, except awesome. I still have it. It was a large figure though, VERY similar to those that are made now in material and texture. I will see if I can find it this weekend. I had no plan to get into the aliens but... |

I noticed that with some of the figures I looked up on both the alien and predator side. Hybrid for $134!

While I dig the original Kenner toys and I'm always happy to add another to the collection, can't say I'm too interested in NECA's homages. The originals have nostalgia (history?) and some substance on their side, where as these these feel kinda... throw-away?
Love their video game stuff and other wacky re-decos, but yeah; not feeling these...yet XD especially if there's a flying Queen on the agenda : ) Last edited by Tokyomeltdown; 11-13-2016 at 05:26 PM.. |

Those are some sweet new aliens! and an awesome diorama, mind if I ask the story behind it? However, I gotta be honest and I really thought with the new line of predators, there would be some pictures of them facing off. Great pictures though

The diorama is made to resemble the old Kenner cardback dioramas that Kenner used. I know some of the parts used to make the diorama are fish aquarium pieces like grates and fans.

YES. The wait for these has been brutal, they just look like so much pure hand candy.
My girlfriend ordered me Gorilla as a Christmas present a few weeks back. And I picked up Scarface and the Mantis during the TRU Black Friday sale (missed out on Clan Leader though). But TRU site says the two Animaliens (made it up) are due to ship in two days. But over on toy wiz it says the same figs aren't shipping till January??? I really hope they get here before christmas though, my new Scarface needs some bugs to fight!
