I am a huge fan of all things Vampire ... and I was hoping to see what others like about movies, toys and related topic about Vampires.
Ever since I was a kid I always loved Vampires .. and it's great how so many cool movies, anime and toys have emerged from the Vampire genre. So I've always been curious to see what others like and collect. So help me out and maybe I learn something I've missed out on. Thanks One of my favorite movies .. Glad you enjoy them, but I feel vampires are the most overused and overrated of all.
Though, I'll be honest and admit most of that has to do with pop culture, Twilight, Nightworld, Anne Rice, and douchey little vampire kids who think they're so goth and vampires are so misunderstood blah blah blah, once again all resulting from Anne Rice. The message of this story is Friends don't let Friends read Anne Rice! I do feel there needs to be a resurgance of the more terrifying, hidious, and oldschool types of vampires.

I like vampires. (Sure they arent as good as zombies but w/e) with that said I am a huge fan of the Vampire Diaries. I hated twilight which I have seen all of in theatres so far (not by my choice) .I liked what 30 days of night did with vampires but I disliked everything else about that film.

I've always been a fan of vampires (and werewolves, for that matter), but I will say I'm burned out by the current trend with that archetype. I much rather prefer Bram Stoker's version (book or movie), the Blade Trilogy, Underworld or even Bela Lugosi's classic version.

Also, pretty sure that Buffy The Vampire Slayer's Angel and Spike had a hand in the "tortured soul/ashamed of his existance" part of the current trend.

I, Vampire. Great comics from the New 52 by DC. Art is amazing, and story is ok 2 issues in. I do recommend you start reading them and keeping up =3.

And I say this not being a big fan of Buffy or Angel. (But of the two, Angel is the better show)

At the very least in their own universe Angel and Spike are the exceptions, and not the examples. As a whole, the Buffyverse seems to use vampires in a more traditional, but modernized sense.
And I say this not being a big fan of Buffy or Angel. (But of the two, Angel is the better show) Some of my favorites are From Dusk Till Dawn and John Carpenter's Vampires. And of course, Vampire Hunter D is a classic.

Ooooooh yeah, I remember Duckula... Fantastic cartoon, and David Jason was hilarious as Duckula! I always loved the way Nanny would just keep crashing through the walls (I think I'm remembering that right! :P)
I think Blade would be my biggest love of vampires, but I did enjoy watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer when I was younger too. Though most of the time they really weren't dealing with vampires...
