Spoilers are treated as to forum rules.
Holy mother of God. I haven't been so wide eyed when reading a comic. I would of NEVER of expecting Animal Man to be this...good. I had little to no care for him before "The New 52". But what they did with him now is great. Art is simple but FANTASTIC. It is only issue #1 and I already want to read more! Here are some samples, maybe it will make you pick up an issue, I don't think you will be disappointed! The next issue is something to do with "The Red". I have no idea what this is, but in Swamp Thing they talk about how "The Green" and "The Red" have allied up to hold back "The Rot". I am assuming in the next issue "The Red" will be explained.

This series really is good. The ideas seem almost what Grant Morrison would have written years ago when he was good. I was expecting one thing and it started to go that way but it suddenly veered right and kept going. It is good writing with great style. I wonder what happens when he meets the Swamp Thing. The book seems to be strange but in a good way.
I do wonder what will happen in the next couple of arcs. |

It blew me away, I wasn't expecting any of this. I cannot wait for a Swamp Thing & Animal Man crossover!

That should be great. DC says that each crossover will stay in a single title so I wonder how it goes.

I like the fact that each issue it just seems to twist a little more. This is one of the first books I read, that and Swamp Thing.

I looked at it but I have a bit of a budget. Might be dropping Stormwatch if the next issue is a lot better.
How is it? What is going on? |

The tease at the end was great. Issue 6 should be a classic.
Did you read Morrison's run on the first series? |

No, I did not. I was pretty much strictly a marvel fanboy and only read events for DC. I am glad DC did a reboot because now it is fairly fresh and easy enough to keep up with.

Oh some of the older issues were great. It showed how he was but no part of the hero world. He became a vegetarian and an activist as Morrison showed his views on the world without being to preachy but very interesting. In the story he kills off Buddy's family and after an issue where they both meet he gives them back with out explaining it. Nice series. You might be able to get them on ebay cheap.

I really like the way both Detective and Batman have been going. I hadn't picked up a Bat book in years so if that is a mark. I am getting the Green Lantern titles but I dropped Red Lanterns and I am thinking of getting rid of Corp. Stormwatch is on the outs for me and the only reason I get it is because of J'Onn J'Ones. I get Justice League and I feel like it is on the bubble. It just needs something but I don't know what.

I agree with Justice League. It needs something...more. But it is still young, it will get better, it just has to! XD

Ok issue 7 is out and it was pretty good, I just seemed to drag a little bit. I hope it gets into the crossover they hinted in issue 5. It should be great.
One of the best moments is When Cliff is talking to two girls about his dad and they don't believe him. Buddy then comes over and says "That was the Justice League they need us." Then picks him up and they fly away. It does see as if the next issue will be a little more action packed. Last edited by Kaewin; 03-10-2012 at 07:59 AM.. Reason: fix spoiler |

It is worth the wait. I get my stuff once a month most of the time but I had a couple extra bucks and went to get a silver age Hulk and picked up the books that came in last week. Had Animal Man and Swamp Thing, both great reading.

That is going to be good, they teased us a couple issues back and I am excited about it. That should be some good reading.
