Whether people like the BST offers or not, it is off-topic for that thread and should not be posted there.
Use the search function in that forum, rather than going into each thread.

The B/S/T stuff does get out of hand on occasion. It is one thing to post an offer to pick-up a coveted or unique item for another Arker, but if everyone peppered the thread with B/S/T posts the way some users abuse this, it wouldn't be a very enjoyable read for anyone. It only gets worse when responses to B/S/T get posted to the forum rather than handled with PMs. I would expect everyone can do a little better at this. Perhaps keep your B/S/T in your sig and note in the 3.75 or 6.00 appreciation threads that you posted some new specific items.
Right now, both threads can read like a series of commercials sometimes, and if everyone posted their wares in this way, the whole thread would be a lot less enjoyable. It's not hard to search B/S/T if somebody is really looking for something. |

Well in my case, for example, I collect 6 inch figs. And my B/S/T reflects that. So people who would check my BST are typically gonna be looking for 6" figs. Well recently I found 4 maskless captain americas 3.75". I dropped one line in the 3.75 thread just to give everyone a heads up. Lo and behold those figs moved in less than 4 hours. mind you they had been in my BST all day prior to that. I didn't scalp the figs. I sold them at retail plus shipping. TO HELP OUT THE FRICKING COMMUNITY!!! Not to hear side ways complaints and crying threads. It doesn't hurt to drop a one liner. Of course after that everything was handled in PM. That's how it should be. I just h ope this thread dies quickly because it's threads like this that turn people off of a site. Not one that everyone frequents on a daily basis.

Yep you guys helping out those of us who cant find/get figures totally knock it off you jerks, what the HELL where you thinking being community minded anyway??? I bite my thumb at your act of selfnessness....
Can someone explain what makes an item coveted or unique?? In the UK we have almost no MU availability, and what do do have is usually way overpriced, therefore you could say virtually ANYTHING MU is unique to us,and that is why the 4 for $20 should be allowed to slide, its hurting NO-ONE and benefitting MANY!! Try thinking bigger picture, and try thinking community...... (And yes i am being somewhat of a smartarse because i cant believe how pedantic people will be to try to prove a point.)

I don't think what I am recommending and what F.C. is recommending are different in the slightest.
Post "hey, I just picked up xyz figures (relevant to that thread) for a good deal if anyone needs them and added them to my B/S/T," then after that everybody handle it with PMs. Or if you see someone posting about needing a version of an older fig for their collection and you have it for sale or know how to pick one up, PM them. 500+ unique daily visitors (99% of whom may already own or will never want a figure) don't need to read a thread of posts about a sale between 2-3 users. Keep it to PMs. This should be obvious across all the boards, but it doesn't seem to sink in for a lot of folks. That is the full extent of my personal b*tch fest about the appreciation threads: "If it's between you and them, PM." Last edited by hrothgars; 05-04-2012 at 02:41 PM.. |

I'm against junior deputy modding in any form. The mods do a good job keeping this place on track. It's only natural from time to time for conversations to veer. As for the bst things, I think those are designed to help people appreciate the line.

That only works if I am on a mission. If there is one think I want and then I go hunt it down. There are many figures I need so searching for 30 different things is just the same.

To increase the efficiency of PM use, the PM capacity needs to be increased. Seriously, and I don't want to hear the ol' "This site doesn't get enough traffic to justify bigger in-boxes" excuse. Things became this way for a reason. Oh, and the search function on this site is next to useless.

I ws thinking ot was Corey Haim with blonde hair- sorta an 80's retro Cap, like when Spidey fought (and got "bad"ly beat by) a Michael Jackson knockoff.
Yes, really. You think I'd make that shit up? |

A good tip would be to clear out any messages that have to do with a sale/trade where obligations on all sides have been fulfilled to everyone's satisfaction.

Im on board (even though I dont collect Tranformers) with a laid back board (or even a laid back thread) i think its refreshing to have a message board that isnt full of a bunch of people being total dicks and bitching and arguing about everything under the sun. This board is unique in that way. (in my experience).

Make sure you clear out both your Inbox and Sent Items folders on a regular basis. If you're in a lengthy conversation with someone, try either using regular email channels or visitor messages.
A good tip would be to clear out any messages that have to do with a sale/trade where obligations on all sides have been fulfilled to everyone's satisfaction. I like to keep the latest message from trades I made and stuff so I can have a record, just for a while. Or if someone is asking me to pick up a figure when it goes on sale here I won't remember who wanted what if I don't keep one of the messages. Maybe they could set up a donation system here so if we donate a few bucks we get a bigger inbox or less ad's.

That might be a good idea. You should post that in the Suggestions thread I mentioned above. I mean, it worked for TFW.
