I didn't know what LMD stood for so I googled it. Afterward, I remembered something Stark said and now I'm onboard with that theory too.

I suspect Phil Coulson is still alive with Stark's Live Model Decoy comment, and Maria Hill telling Furi those Cap Trading Cards weren't in he's jacket, but from he's locker. That and Phil knew the Avengers needed someone to avenge to come together as a team. Man, this really is my favorite movie of all time. I never saw a movie that actually exceeded my expectations.

i dont believe phil was ever an android he was defintely human !!! if you remeber maria hill says to nick fury when he shows her the phil's cards "they were in his locker" then fury says " i need to persuade them" :L so im guessing hes not, an the doctors that came actually saved him.

as much as i understand you theory why would stark have one of those , and "believe" phil is gone was he double acting ?

I don't think this lends itself to the LMD theory. I'm curious if he was really dead too, as in the comics they made some LMDs that were near perfect replicas like Fury's back when the Punisher 'killed' him. However the 'I need to persuade' them fits in well with Coulson's statement before he bit it that they needed something ie motivation

I don't know why people need to wait until Monday to talk about the movie. If you haven't seen the movie and you go into an Avengers Movie Discussion thread... then that's your own fault. I saw it last night and ignored this thread until today.

Anyway,.. pretty interesting Phil theories, but to be honest.. I kind of hope he's dead and was human and all. Not because I didn't like him, I actually really liked his character. More because I thought it was a super badass courageous way to go. Earth is crumbling and the heart and belief of a good man, who had no powers, was just as key in the victory as the heroics of the guys with actual powers. Loved it and everything it stood for.

The Thanos scene was sick.. the even grin like "That was fun,.. now I'm going to fuck them up" was perfect.

Edit- I just wanted to add that Scarlet's ass looked fantastic in that suit... I hardly even noticed she was talking to Loki in that interrogation scene. Nice camera work there.

I cheated and watched it last week before the movie released but yeah that movie just completely blew me away. It fulfilled so many hopes I've had for comic book movies for so long. With all the positive buzz especially as it concerns the Hulk, I hope they do another Hulk movie.

Also for those naysayers I could totally see them using the Guardians of the Galaxy as a lead in to the Avengers 2 to help battle Thanos. Also I highly look forward to this scene at some point

Yeah we thought so too, and we are playing that game again and we noticed that on the movie for the 4th mission when they said that every hero would have to register they showed a white star with stripes on it just like Steve Rogers costume on other heroes, we think they made his costume from that game.


Back on topic, did anyone think it was weird that when Phil called stark it was his face shown on the phone but then when he comes through the elevator the phone is on his ear? Or was his face just a caller ID thing and it wasn't like a FaceTime thing?

Just read an article on yahoo that said Avengers now holds the best Saturday of any movie and best 3 day total beating Harry Potter. I would love to see this movie take the top spot for all time gross

Yeah a lot of people in my theater didn't know who it was at the end either, I even heard one guy say "is that hellboy?", I couldn't hold my laughter in. It really makes you realize how many people who see these movies really don't even have basic knowledge of comics.

Ive seen so many people's Facebook pages filled with avengers comments and statuses that they couldn't wait for this movie but have no history of the books at all. Maybe this will bring somewhat of an upswing to the comics, maybe at least for the summer anyway.

SPOLIER ( well mentioned one)

i think this amazing film avengers was a hick-up due to the film thor the inifinte gaulett was found by fans like us , so it gave a hint to a possbile villian thanos , there also was the eye of agaramounto belonging to dr stange so could it be we might see an dr stange or ant-man film or something ? and have an small army of heroes aganist a massive beening like galatics or thanos mostly like thanos , i reckon marvel may need more money thats why there are making another thor , cap & iron man films and hulk and possibly make the film either two parts or one film to make avengers 2 better than the first one ( very diffcult) So i reckon it will be a huge face-off with an MUA avenger style film perhaps would be cool to see and if so alot of frecking walmart exculsives yet again to get maybe they will throw in an henchmen figure perhaps. just a theory of mine
