The SDCC carrier gets it's extra length via a center section installed between the standard carrier's two sections. Essentially SDCC carrier is comprised of: Section A (front) 2 feet long +/- Section B (middle) 1 foot long +/- Section C (rear) 1 foot long +/- While the mass retail carrier is comprised of: Section A (front) Section C (rear) So I'm thinking if I bought 2 SDCC carriers I could make a Mega carrier and still have a mass release carrier as well: Mega carrier: A + B + B + C (5 feet long +/-) Standard carrier: A + C (3 feet long +/-) Hmmmmmmmmm........ |

That's a lot of bucks for 2 SDCC helicarriers but that would be cool! If you ever make a long one let us know!

That's essentially Hasbro's reply during the Marvel toys panel regarding the playsets for MU.

weed619 not only posted in the correct forum, but provided pictorial proof of his find. Burying a comment with no proof in another thread does not warrant being credited for news. Sorry.

Posting pictorial proof of a new finding in the correct forum will result being credited for news. Posting a passing statement in a non-news thread with no proof to back up the claim will not.

I have a feeling this one will go to clearance. Unless you are trying to complete the entire avengers toy line, most collectors will go after the superior SDCC version. I'll get one of these when clearance hits, and then break it for a custom battle damaged minicarrier. Can we say....Sodering Gun?

I just learned something about the SDCC carrier, not sure if it's common knowledge.

This might work and be cheaper: Take 2 standard carriers, keep the front and back half from one, take the other and cut all the front and side detail stuff off so its just a long deck, then use it like the SDCC center piece and glue it in between the regular front and back. The results would be a helicarrier bigger than any combination of the other pieces. What do you think?
But you are onto my original thought, before the SDCC Helicarrier was announced which was buy 4 reg carriers and splice them into one big mofo of a surfboard. I want a cool display for MegaBloks, Handful of heroes, and Heroics. Can't think of a better way, than to turn the display "shelf" into a functional diorama! I'm waiting for the china sellers to start selling off the midsections on Ebay lol. |

Definitely be bigger. I do like the snap in/snap off aspect of the SDCC midsection. I was thinking I could sell off the SDCC "shorty" to offset some costs.

Wow, 2 of them! Can't wait to see how that looks!
If you don't mind me asking, how did you get 2 of them? Wasn't it a 1 per person thing?

Making a stretch helicarrier and a normal one was the idea I had but they were too big to bring back home. Been waiting for pictures of someone doing it so I can at least see how it would have looked.
All they did was stamp the back of your badge and check your ID so if you had single day badges it would have been easy enough to get more the next day as your badge was clean. You could also get the guy in line behind you to buy one if he wasn't going to.

Truly tempting idea...The other one actually belongs to my bro, who unfortunately is a MOC collector and never plans to open the thing... Yes, one per person at sdcc, but I could barely fit these boxes in my car!

I say buy buy 1 regular version, some thing mdf board trace the shape cut it out, extend the top and reinforce the bottom, then get 2 hidden hinges that can be mounted on the bottom and each side can rise and lower independantly. You see these a lot in fancy tables where extensions fold in and out or the table-tray raises and lowers. Ikea or a hardware/ cabinet place may carry them, just an idea, $80 for 1 regular carrier, $25 wood, and $25 hinges, the rest is paint, sanding, etc minimal costs, versus, 2 $110 sdcc versions plus shipping plus a regular one lol. Either way you make it, just take lots of pics lol. your ghostrider looks amazing!

So that's a good idea making a top with MDF (it would be hard to get all the detail) but why would you want it to fold out?
