I picked mine up a couple of weeks ago. It's a very cute addition but I can't avoid how overpriced it is, for $10 the egg-pod-crib should've been included.

Nice Photo Special Effects to get him to hold the bowl!

Actually got him to do that physically. Wax at the shoulder joint, with them popped out, had the ball peg stuck in the wax. Only minor photoshop to remove some stray wax that snuck in the final shots.

Just wanted to throw this out there in addition to the review, but if you happen to see the more kid friendly Mission Fleet Mando figure out there, it's worth grabbing, as The Child that comes in the set scales pretty well to the Black Series figure in size.
While the Mission Fleet Child is only articulated at the head, the head can be easily removed and placed onto the Black Series figure if that's a look you desire. One thing of note, it does sit a bit high, so you might need to dremel the hole a little deeper onto the figure so the head sits lower, but it still can plug into the body as is with no modification. The main reason that it's worth picking up though...(besides getting a neat...albeit kid friendly Mando and Baby Yoda...) is that the set comes with The Child's stroller/crib pod...and since the figures are nearly the same size, the Black Series figure works almost perfectly with it! The shade on the pod even folds down to shield baby from the harsh sun's rays! |

I wasn't feeling the kiddie version but when I got to the last pic I was like OK that's worth it. That is, until Hasbro redoes it in Black Series as a deluxe something or other.

My point is still made, the figure can not hold either accessory its ment to without pulling the arms OUT OF THE SOCKETS!

Yes.. if you had to pop the joints out and use a foreign substance to get the figure to hold onto its own accessory, that's special effects! You can have both practical and Photoshop special effects man.
My point is still made, the figure can not hold either accessory its ment to without pulling the arms OUT OF THE SOCKETS! And yes, I agree, the inability to hold the accessories, especially the cup which was a key shot, is nuts. I know they had to rush so I'm hoping they do a second proper one timed with release of season 2. |
