I haven't heard much, but what little I have heard is that Best-Lock is one of the poorest quality brands out there. Worse even than Character Builder (About to get some CB sets, so I'll know for sure what those are like)

I've always wished we would get some of the Stargate ships, especially the Daedalus, even if in a Titanium type series. Never heard of these things and would prefer it to not be a building toy. Why can't they get something good done with the license?

looking at these now, it's extremely disappointing. They look pretty bad (Though the Daedalus looks snappy. Kinda want that), and uninspired. The figurines look really cheap, and I don't think they have the rights to the characters. Not a single canon character is represented, or even mentioned.

Y'all better be nice when talking about Stargate!! (see avatar)

These are pretty cheap toys, like has been said. There is another set I've seen pictures of that looks kinda good -- it's a set of the Gate room at Cheyenne Mountain.

There's lots of other sets too. . .a Wraith Dart, some kind of little Jaffa battle station, individual sets of the different ships (F-302, X-302), and others. So much potential. . .wasted on a knock-off of a knock-off brand. I would have been happy with MegaBloks making these! (And don't get me started on Diamond Select's Stargate line!)

I know Lego has it's detractors, but Lego really *is* the brand that would have been best suited for Stargate. I mean, they already ran an egyptian line for a few years, and thus they already have a ton of egyptian type molds already made and ready to go.
Kreons would have been more fun for the minifigs, but like I said, lego was already ready to go. >_<

Although, there's one thing I think this group does right... the "large" ships are all just self contained model sets, that doesn't try to cram an out of scale playset for the minifigures inside.
Unfortunately, the "small" ships, like the deathgliders, they do the same thing.

Puddle Jumpers, Darts, Deathguilders, Cargo Ships, and the X-303s (Is that right?) should all be compatable with minifigures, with cockpits and (in the case of the cargo ship) full playsets.

But then, they didn't even make a canon character, so what do you expect.

On a side note, got some of my CB Doctor Who stuff in. Dunno why everyone says the blocks are bad quality.

I feel like $25 is really cheap if that Daedalus is actually 18" long. These things must be crap but we have no other representation of these things. Such a pain. I'd probably pay $25 for the thing if I found it in a store but shipping adds $20 to it. I'd like to see some more out of the box images or a review first. I do love how it mentions the ship having 32 railguns but the toy doesn't seem to attempt even one.

Sadly no but I'm pretty sure it's getting a movie. A sequel to the Kurt Russell one that will completely ignore all the TV shows :/

I do think that is the way to do it. I've seen some pretty awesome SG-1 ships made from Lego by customizers. If only we could get those made officially.

I wish someone would put out 1:50 scale die cast ships from stargate, babylon 5, farscape and terminator. I would just be in heaven. Good opp for mattel or hasbro.

Would love that.

Apparently Sears Canada have had these for awhile. And the Daedalus is $20. Interesting...

From what little info I can find online the quality and detail of the bricks is pretty bad. Like the colors aren't consistent. Multiple reports of having the wrong pieces in the box and some pieces being colors like red and green when they should be black or gray.

I saw the T2 set at toys r us next to the knex. They had it on sale too. It was marked down from 49.99 to 29.99 which wasn't bad for a 1000 piece set. Been considering it just for the piece count, though some of them look like they could bolster the Halo Megabloks armory.

The stargate ones look interesting.

I'd consider the Daedalus but would have to make it bigger and tweak it to have an interior that fits Mega bloks Halo Spartans. That'd be a perfect companion ship to the Forward Unto Dawn/Custom Mother of Invention.

The stargates themselves are tempting as all heck too. The rest of it is meh to me in those sets(don't really have much need for desert themed buildings but I'm sure the mario brick collectors can find a use, as could the Warcraft and Halo bloks fans), but if they did a pack with just two stargates each, I'd be down for that in a heartbeat. I'd also love a chance to get Atlantis and Destiny.

As for best lock quality. I can vouch for them other than a few stress marks and scratches sometimes, they lock well, and can hold together fine. Same to how the pieces intermingle with other brands. My Ironman armory was made using roughly 2000 best lock bricks, and 1000+ lego. Same to the Red Vs Blue Freelancer Outpost that's slowly growing now too. The prices are usually decent like the T2 set at Ross and Toys R Us. That's why I turned to them. At that time I could get 350pc boxs for 10 bucks. Which came out to 30usd for 1050+ while lego was 59.99 for exactly 1000. Been looking for similar deals since. Two unfinished buildings.

I'd like to see that!

I got the small T2 jet HK and tank HK at Ross for about $6 each, and that was a fair price.
Some pieces don't stay together, others are so tight they'll never come apart; the decals are supposed to go over bumps; they both needed reconfiguring and Lego block infusions to make them look good from multiple angles; the joints of the T800s pop off... but hey, they were $6 each and they can fight my Halo marines!

That's good to know!
As for my earlier comments on CB, I finally got a couple of my sets, and they do just fine too. Don't know what the complaints about them are. They feel compairable to Kreo.

I think I'd be tempted to get one set just to have a Stargate in the Lego scale. I've purchased something from this company before and the quality is horrible even by knock off standards. The mini-figures will be something to just replace with Lego mini-figures instead although some times the accessories can be re-used on a Lego mini-figure.

Reviews I've read said the Stargate itself is pretty nice.
