So I recently purchased some stuff from a seller on eBay who calls himself comics-and-toys, and I thought I got a good deal but the guy is relentlessly unprofessional and rude to boot. To save you guys the hassle of dealing with him, I decided to provide the communication I had with him to you so that you can judge the content of his comments, and give me some feedback as to whether I leave negative feedback for him. The messages start at the bottom and work their way up to the top. Here you go:
Dear comics-and-toys, Wow, just wow. I would have accepted an apology for your mistake, but clearly you don't care and expect buyers to pay you extra to have their merchandise shipped without being jammed into a box just to save you a buck or two. I didn't like your excuse about Mother's Day, and I don't like your attitude about carelessly shoving my items into a box that was smaller that one of the figures. Basically, you are rude and unreliable, and I don't plan on buying anything else from you, ever. Not only that, but as a member of many toy collecting and comic forums, I now have the responsibility to tell others that there is a guy calling himself "comics-and-toys" on eBay, who would rather make excuses and smug comments to his buyers, instead of even slightly showing concern about his so called business reputation. "Thanks again!" From: comics-and-toys Subject: Re: Combined shipping: chris sent a message about DC Universe Green Lantern Classics Black Hand IN STOCK #230615419637 Sent Date: May-17-11 05:59:19 PDT Dear chris, Feel free to request "coillectors grade" in the future and we will be sure not to package in a way that would slightly bend the plastic. Thanks again! - comics-and-toys To: comics-and-toys Subject: Re: Combined shipping: chris sent a message about DC Universe Green Lantern Classics Black Hand IN STOCK #230615419637 Sent Date: May-17-11 00:32:34 PDT Dear comics-and-toys, Hey man. The figures arrived as promised, but I was just wondering why you chose to ship the figures in a box that only fit Black Hand but not Scarecrow (The Scarecrow packaging is longer and was bent up to fit into the box)? I'm not mad, but I thought it would have been shipped better considering your account name is "comics-and-toys" and guys like me hate to receive anything damaged. Well? So sorry I was not able to get back with you on the shipping total within 24 hours. Invoice has been sent. Thanks. - comics-and-toys To: comics-and-toys Subject: Combined shipping: chris sent a message about DC Universe Green Lantern Classics Black Hand IN STOCK #230615419637 Sent Date: May-08-11 22:58:38 PDT Dear comics-and-toys, I still have not received an invoice from you with a combined shipping total. I'm not sure why it is taking so long for you to send the invoice, but I would appreciate a response. -Chris |

Personally, I think your last response may have been a little harsh. Granted, they could have done a better job of packing your stuff, but was there a guarantee of any kind listed on the auction or an offer for "Collector's Grade" as suggested?
And in your first response, you clearly stated you weren't mad, yet your last response (and this thread) shows that you clearly are upset. Also, I would consider Mother's Day to be a perfectly acceptable excuse, especially if the dude is married and has kids (I know from personal experience). How long was the wait between the end of the auction and your first request for an invoice? I'm just trying to come at this from an objective point of view, not to point fingers or take sides, mind you.

Never had a single problem with this guy- I got four sets of Defense of Cobra Island from him and a bunch of back-issues on comics. Nothing but love for him from me, and I honestly think you over reacted, though that was no excuse for damaged packaging. Try talking to him about an exchange.

You know there is a section when you pay with paypal to send a message. I usually mention not shipping my junk in a small package that doesn't fit. I especially do that with the shipping gougers.
