They didn't do a whole lot until recently. Mainly statues, then blew everyone away with Fight Club figures earlier this year.

The idea of Fight Club figures horrifies me. Why would you have figures of the characters in a satirical condemnation of toxic masculinity and materialism? I just can't wrap my head around it. Nice Ghostbusters though.

If they make Fight Club in 7", I'll be all over it. How come they nailed the GB likenesses on the 12", but not the 6"?

Those open mouth expressions are perfect for the 6 inch line. I love that in the original Ghostbusters. The overacting is superb.

...amazing stuff. I think the 1:12 Ghostbusters face sculpt look better than Mezco's. I'll be tempted to get them, but depends on pricing. With the whole hoopla of the remake, I need the real Ghostbusters in my collection

There's apparently two companies now doing 1/6 original Ghostbusters figures: Blitzway and Soldier Story (Soldier Story is also doing the new Ghostbusters). Both of their offerings look great, I wonder if they're fighting over who gets final approval, or if we're simply getting figures from both companies? In any case, it's nice to see good 1/6 scale Ghostbusters seeing the light of day.

Good for you, Louise: I was tempted to respond to that extremely glib and hollow "toxic masculinity" comment, but you're on point. Anyway, I have found that it's best to avoid confrontation with the vanguard of the victim industry, because no matter what you say, it's going to be twisted and thrown back at you in some perverted form, making honest discourse impossible.
Getting back on topic, I agree with Lordbest: the Ghostbusters figures look GREAT! Last edited by Skoob; 07-21-2016 at 08:43 PM.. |

First of all, Fight Club is an *Hollywood movie, so the supposedly anti-materialism massage is a complete BS (I still remember that great IKEA product placement, lol!) . I think that the movie is actually at the end of the day, a criticism on the left ideology, the movie is against socialism/equality and anarchy; The narrtor who was drawn to the left violent ideology, decided to leave his former life and create an "equal" men community ( which he is the leader of it, 'cause guess what kids? some people are more talented then you and there's always someone in control, absolute equality doesn't exist in real life) to go against the "evil" capitalist society and then he end up not just only killing one of his close friend, but thousands of people while realizing that all this time he was insane and didn't do that in clear mind**. As for the toxic masculinity, this what happens when you destroy the nuclear family and promote promiscuity and selfishness; good masculinity means to provide for your family and protect them, however now that women became "independent" (living on the welfare and basically being depended on the government) and promiscuous, men have lost their purpose and became useless in our society so they try to found other ways to express their manhood without being looked down upon by others.
*Hollywood support welfare and socialism, but try to avoid paying high taxes, bunch of hypocrites. ** Unfortunately, people, especially on the left, tend to think evil people are just insane and doesn't hold them accountable. Also the nuclear family only existed in the 1950s onwards, briefly. It was an aberration. Quote:

Getting back on topic, I agree with Lordbest: the Ghostbusters figures look GREAT! I won't respond on this topic again, I was expressing my own confusion over the merchandise for an anti-materialist themed movie/novel, not looking for a discussion on the subject matter.

You've not read the book then? Or seen the film possibly. I mean anti-materialism is central to Project Mayhem. How can you miss that?

You realize that is one of the themes of the film, yes? A cunning manipulator preying on young men's sense of victim hood, and twisting their anger at their own mandated position into society in a way that is ultimately self-serving and self destructive? Tyler Durden is the villain on the film because he takes mens anger at being forced into the charade of masculinity, and instead of deconstructing that masculinity and helping men find what gives them satisfaction he radicalizes and militarizes them but is ultimately rejected by them.
