"Boba Fett is coming to San Diego Comic-Con in July, and he's bringing a friend.
One of the collectible toys that Hasbro will have available exclusively at the pop-culture event this year is a detailed 6-inch Boba Fett action figure from the new Star Wars Black Series. What's even better is that he comes packaged with two weapons, his iconic jet pack and the ultimate accessory: Han Solo frozen in carbonite. Kids of all ages can relive the moments in the Cloud City of Bespin during The Empire Strikes Back where Boba Fett hauls off his prey, or the scenes in Return of the Jedi where the iconic bounty hunter has taken Solo to Jabba the Hutt's palace on Tattooine. The special-edition set is priced at $44.99 and will be sold at the Hasbro booth at the San Diego Convention Center July 18-21. The first wave of four Black Series figures, due out in early to mid-August, includes Luke Skywalker in his X-Wing Fighter flight suit, fan-favorite droid R2-D2, Sith lord Darth Maul and an Imperial Sandtrooper. If you don't want to wait that long to get Star Wars stuff, in honor of Star Wars Day/May the Fourth on Saturday fans can use the promo code "SWFANDAY" to get 20% off Star Wars and Angry Birds Star Wars toys online at HasbroToyShop.com." Boba Fett figure to debut at Comic-Con, with Solo in tow

That's definitely a good way to help kick off the link. The Carbonite Solo looks a bit odd, but the Boba Fett looks fantastic.

I can see the epic battle in the Hasbro SDCC Booth lines for this, and if that Metroplex rumor turns out to be true.

Boba Fett looks great and the display box is actually pretty cool as well. However it's going to be almost impossible to get without laying out some serious money to the lucky scalpers who can pick it up so I hope a regular release isn't too far off. Han in carbonite just isn't doing it for me, maybe if they could go Hitler in carbonite like on Greatest Rap Battles in History then I'd want a carbonite figure.

Does Han look small to anyone? I feel like that Carbonite block should be a little bigger. I dont see the big fuss in this. I feel like its only exciting because its the LAST scale format we haven't seen Star Wars in.
Yes it looks pretty cool with the black box and all but its Boba Fett, I feel like we have been fed this character and concept for too many years. It should have been the first Disney Star Wars figure or something eluding to episode 7. Star Wars SDCC items always seem to be the most boring releases only package changes or a simple extra carbonite block, two years now. The box is nice but so have been the boxes for the past 10 years of Star Wars releases maybe more now. I wish this slot or time could be given to one of Hasbros frontier brands like the Micronauts who actually could use the publicity on a large scale. Everyone will have Star Wars exclusives what makes Hasbros any more or less interesting. Does anyone still want the Carbon Chamber from last year? Or the other goofy already released multipack? GI JOE always seems to get something interesting the Transformer crossovers and a newly tooled unreleased figure. Why can't Star Wars be a little more fan/collector focused than they have been with there SDCC releases. Other than that I thought Star Wars had a pretty good year of mixing the two elements of fan related products and everybody consumer products.

Looks pretty sweet but $45 seems pretty steep for a figure and a big accessory piece that is still undersized for what it should be.

Cost of flight $$$ Cost of SDCC Pass $$$ 8 Hours in HTS line at SDCC $$$ Hotel during SDCC (3x normal cost) $$$$$$$$ Shipping all this shit home $$$$$ = Easy 4 Grand This may not be a necessity for some people but... New Air Jordan's with air bubble so your feet don't fall off from walking 20 miles a day Extra $150-$200 Or you can stay at home and get him on eBay for about $150.00 = Money well spent.

Well here's to hoping that they decide to release a "Jedi" version of Fett later on down the line for regular release as well since it would be pretty much just a repaint of this "Empire" version.
I normally don't have a problem getting the Hasbro exclusives I want for cost when they put them up on HTS, but even at $45 I'm not sure this set is worth it. Then again all exclusives are inflated even before scalpers get their grubby hands on them.
