Big whoop, they're only $5 less than the regular releases.

That's great and all, but what about actually functional-looking armor for female characters instead of this bikini bullshit? Seriously, unless I wanna cover a display in female corpses that have all died from wounds that their "armor" should've protected them from, I basically can't display these.

Ooo! Just $20 for 4" scale figures. Such a deal!

That's not even what I'm getting at. I'm just talking about basic coverage. Google greek or medieval archers and find me one that's wearing as little as the V Hacks ones. All the ones I see are wearing some kind of tunic. That spear guy in the center is actually wearing less armor, but he's got black clothes all over his body underneath the armor.

I have played Warhammer Fantasy for years. My wife and I would regularly research troop types and color schemes for ideas, which is why I am familiar with ancient armor. Armor was expensive so you did not waste it on troops who did not need it, like archers, who in fact should not be wearing any armor at all for the sake of mobility.

Exactly. This is a huge rip-off. No one will buy these.

Dang. The salt in this thread is huge.
That's fine, more for me, then. |

Um... do people not actually buy Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. on here?
They do "exclusive" re-colors of the regular $20 figure and those go for $50+ and sell out in an instance. People love this line and will buy out anything that comes out. |

Really liking the new Amazon archer. Not "all-in" when it comes to the Hacks, but I do cherry-pick my purchases with them. All of the figures that I have are pretty fantastic and worth the price compared to the alternatives on the current pegs.

Yeah none of the major toy companies seem to be catering to us 3.75” collectors, so I’m glad somebody is. I’ve bought quite a few of these and love them.

There were no pictures, I was trying to reply with a quote from someone in the thread and that doesn't work, there were no links, no nothing.
After that I tried it without the quote, but it seems that it is still locked up probably using certain words, which is strange because the words were in the original post... |

Also The parts for the figures were out long before Wonder Woman came out, they need to re-use those parts to get their moneys worth out of the molds. Quote:

What's more sexist though, assuming that the designer was a man or your comment? Because the designer was a woman.

Yes, I would much rather they be free and given in large quantities as well.
Living in the real world however the realization has come upon me that smaller collector oriented companies will be a bit steeper in price as well as higher in quality than the normal production figures. Take into account that they are the designers from the most beloved gijoe, starwars, transformers and other lines that are behind it, I don't really mind the price. You might, but they are very much army buildable, it all depends on where you put your money and where you focus your collection. Now if you decide to not save up and get the figures that's fine, but they are still a collectors oriented product that true enough only some collectors can put their finances in to enjoy - but that is the way of the future for action figure collecting, it won't get any cheaper. Whining about price will change nothing, which is what most people do - or throw around some ridiculous numbers that fit them without even knowing production costs, how many people work in the company or all other things surrounding getting figures produced. |
