You would think that despite the fued between Fox and Marvel, that Marvel would have at least heeded the advice from one of the biggest comic movies of all time..."don't make the suit animated". It (along with the changes made to the costume, it gives me a "Big Time Spider-Man" feel...ugh) looked pretty awful. Why change the look of the costume from ASM2? As bad of a movie it was, the costume was perfect. The animated eyes actually do the costume a disservice.
Still excited to see Spidey return to the big screen and finally make his MCU debut, but I still can't deny that this first look was pretty disappointing. Last edited by Trivial Psychic; 03-10-2016 at 11:01 AM.. |

And yeah, the eyes are a little bit weird.

It is CG rendered. Marvel's Kevin Feige said on several occasions that it would be, which helped fuel all the Iron Spider rumors that were circulating for a while. |

*sigh* Goddamnit. Why can't people actually save things until the movie is released? I didn't want to see Spider-Man until I'm sitting in the theater watching the movie.
All that said not too impressed with him. |

I'm kind of surprised they actually showed Spider-Man...although obviously it's to hype it up a lot more. There could be more surprises in store that we haven't seen and they won't show.

There was plenty to hype it up. All I needed was Ant-Man riding Hawkeye's arrow. Giant-Man has already been spoiled (granted we haven't seen him in the actual movie yet at least) so showing Spider-Man feels like there isn't much left that hasn't been seen.

Still excited to see Spidey return to the big screen and finally make his MCU debut, but I still can't deny that this first look was pretty disappointing. It's kind of like people complaining about how Lois Lane doesn't figure out that Clark Kent is Superman. Some people can suspend disbelief and accept that a man can fly without being propelled, but not that a coworker wouldn't be able to see through a thin disguise. I do agree that it would have been better to leave the surprise for the movie though. I'm coming to expect major spoilers from WB, but I thought Marvel and Disney would have known better. It's like killing Han Solo in the Force Awakens trailers. Last edited by OGTrilogy; 03-10-2016 at 03:30 PM.. |

i thought spidey looked great. a bit reminiscent of the classic romita sr version.
not sure why people are complaining about seeing him in the trailer, we've known he was in the movie for a while already. |

I was shocked to see Spider-man in the trailer. This is all so weird...only took two years if that to see Spider-man in the MCU.
The costume design is all over the place in these movies. I don't get why they can make Black Panther and Spider all fantastical looking, but they can't do that for Captain America or Hawkeye. The two characters are unrecognizably drab now. |

I miss the Raimi web texturing.
The texture of the red parts looks very Green Lantern...and the Russo brothers' color grading isn't helping. I really dig the blue sections though. |

I saw that and it got me more excited for the movie than the Spider-Man reveal.

Who's to say he doesn't? If I'm not mistaken the last thing you see is him running up Iron Man's arm. Could still kick the **** out of Iron Man.
I hope he kicks the **** out of Iron Man. |

Yeah that was awesome.
I hate the way EMH ended. It started out so good and just limped on until the end. |

For me this is the most anticipated movie of the year, bar none. I think the only other that comes in second is Rogue One. I have had complete faith with the Russos since WS and I simply cannot wait to see what they do with Infinity Wars.
