She's handled well in Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes cartoon.

So there will be a lot of kids out there who are more aware of her than some adult fans. I would be surprised if there is less awareness out there in the public of Carol Danvers than there was of the Guardians of the Galaxy before their film. Now they are hugely popular household names.

Also in Avengers Assemble, which isn't as good as EMH but she has been on it quite a lot in the last season.

I would be surprised if there is less awareness out there in the public of Carol Danvers than there was of the Guardians of the Galaxy before their film. Now they are hugely popular household names. That being said, Guardians of the Galaxy were completely unknown even to many hardcore comics fans prior to the movie. They weren’t a marketed book. Few, if any, trading cards. That entire brand was literally built by the movies. Really shows the skill Marvel has in their movies. They can take 2nd tier like Ironman, Thor, and Black Panther, and bottom rung characters like Guardians, black widow, and Hawkeye, and turn them into household names that every 4 year old knows.

EMH was rather mixed. Had it's good spots and its bad. Assembled and Rising handle her really well without any of the random weird "wait wut?" questionable stuff of randomly depowering women to make them weak at inopportune times for no reason other than induced peril or other stuff of having them get the male hero into bad spots. Don't get me wrong though, EMH had some great new stuff and neat moments, but there is some really 'wait, that's not how that works' moments when you stop to think about it. Like absorbing man and Thor's hammer. Which was a cool af scene, but uru metal isn't what Thor controls, and Uru metal is what Absorbing man absorbed. Still funny af that the enchantments went with it though for that scene. But logistically, really shouldn't have worked like that either. But hey, cartoons are allowed some leeway to do random "Cool for coolness sake" stuff. It was funny to watch fans do mental blackflips to make excuses for that stuff though that was intentionally put there to see how they'd react to it or if they'd question it. That Carol and debris scene was one of those. Captain Marvel's brand awareness is at a high right now. There have been some concentrated pushes for that intentionally since her rebranding from Ms. Marvel to Captain Marvel. Even before that though, her general audience awareness was relatively high for various reasons, including X-Men's Rogue. So she's pretty recognizable and has been heavily pushed and prepped for her solo movie, as well as having had several well received more general audience supported comic runs. So going into the film, general audiences as well as kids are much more aware of who she is than say the GOTG that really only had 2 cartoon appearances before their first movie. I thought the trailer was dull and po-faced so I guess it's apropos that the figures look bland as well. Despite the lead being a good actress and very easy on the eyes, she doesn't seem to have much charisma, presence and she seems expressionless.

I thought the trailer was really good. I actually liked it more than the Black Panther trailer, which I thought (wrongly) gave away too much of the action pieces. It sets up a character that 90+% of movie going audience members have no clue who it is. So many people think she is Marvel's response to Wonder Woman or Supergirl. There is a LOT of confusion by the masses. She doesn't have the 30 years of mass merchandise ranging from cake toppers to underoos that Venom has had.

I watched it a couple of more times and her few lines came off as kind of cringey...in a Jyn Erso "I rebel" kind of way. And I really wasn't getting a stoic, reserved military vibe from her. She's seems to me more like a Sam Worthington type of actor to me..someone capable enough but devoid of charisma and presence and years later we're all left wondering why he was he in all of these big movies for a period of time.
But.... it is just a teaser and I haven't been too impressed with any MCU trailers since Ragnarok and those movies turned out just fine. and I'm stoked they're bringing Lee Pace back so I won't be totally negative about it lol. |

The movie will be great. These toys however leave much to be desired.
For anyone that wants a pulp fiction Sam Jackson, here ya go! lol. I'm hoping the other unrevealed characters in this set might be 1 or 2 I actually want to get. |

I'm imagining that Hasbro will continue their trend of giving us some really on point final products despite less than stellar promo pics (like IW Black Widow) so the quality of the Brie Larson likeness here doesn't bother me that much. Since Coulson is in the movie I wonder if we're also going to see a new figure of him in some form, it would be a nice inclusion.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, she delivers her lines with all of the enthusiasm of a horny 16 year old being dragged to a church function with their parents on a Friday night. I really don't get the hype and buzz around this film. Social sites are hyping it up like madness, (#Clickbait) and honestly, teaser trailer or not...there was simply very little to nothing there to be excited over. I actually thought the teaser was worse than the first Venom trailer we got that featured Tom Hardy's lousy accent and no Venom. I guess Marvel can do no wrong though...*rolls eyes. I'm surprised it doesn't have a flame/energy fist effect like the SHF considering it was included in the last Carol figure. Guess I'll have to pilfer it. Or maybe Sunfires for a little more umph. That's really the only disappointing thing for me.
Also has anyone used Star Lord's scarf for an older comic Ms Marvel look cause that seems perfect and I never thought about it until now lol. Should have gotten one at 5 Below when I had the chance. |

Be careful with some toy reveals for this line. Clicked on another that showed an accessory with Fury that would be a pretty big spoiler.

Damn, yeah that got me too.
Everything looks great! A little disappointed that the Kree dude doesn't come with an alternate blue head, though. Would've liked to have a few troops. |

Boy...you took the words right out of my mouth...especially with the Sam Worthington comparison. Get outta my head!
