I, the almighty Shin Densetsu, able to grab rocks and turn them into dust by mere clench of the fist, have been victimized.
So I was driving down the street. Pull down my shades, wipe some dirt off my shoulder, noticed toys r us was nearby. The giraffe, a symbol of hopelessness jn the face of trying to buy anything new, could not be overlooked. It gazes at us, never flinching, daring us to walk in and attempt to buy new swag. In order to further boost my already monumentally huge ego and persona, I walked in, unafraid to face the challenge. As I make a rough draft of my internal monologue, I figured the following would suffice: "You're going down Geoffrey the giraffe. Giraffe? More like rif raffe. HMPHHH!" The glimmering reflections of gift wrap had me reminiscing of days gone by. The days of getting a new toy unearthed from the packaging. It's like the werther's original commercials. As I toss my rose tinted glasses to the side, I go to the Transformers aisle. Warpath wave? Who am I kidding. No I didn't find it. Showing that I, the almighty Shin Densetsu, too, feel the pain of you mortals. So I go check marvel section. New legends 2 packs? Ya right. Human torch and invisible woman. This set might as well be invisible, no one wanted it. Wait. Horned hair. Claws. Silver bad assery... I had found the patch vs silver samurai pack. It rang up as $15+. Bought. This story, like many 80's teenage drama movies, ought to have a happy ending. BULLSHIT First, the comic. Awesome vintage artwork. Open it up. The fuck? Loki must be at Hasbro for I have been rick rolled. Within were interior pages from a wolverine origins comic. Adding a further testicular kick to take the breath of a god, the costume shown within is wolverine's current costume which we have still yet to see in the marvel universe line. Okay to the toys. Wolvy has fists. Good. Claws? Separate, new, and awesome. Face? Okay. Maybe they can reuse this mold as AOA Weapon X. Now the highlight. Silver Samurai. Man this guy is awesome. The new rocker ankles. Reminds me of that first time I bit into cheesecake. The neck joint. A hinge? GTFO. Spots to store his swords. Thigh swi-........ His leg came off. !#$%&*()$%&*(%&* #$%&*( $%&*() this $%&*( of $%&*78, man $%&*() the $%&*() %&*( %&+!!!!!!! Disaster. Before his leg came off I had pulled out the hair drier, tried freeing the thigh. No dice. Shoved in freezer two times. No dice. The thigh was stuck at the swivel, would not turn. Clean break but this is not an easy fix. Comic pack quality has been hit or miss. There was a noticeable difference upon release, I was convinced a different factory was producing them as the quality was so much lower than the single carded figures. First breakages I experienced in this line was from comic pack figures. What sucks was that this was the only set in the store.

Man, that does indeed sucketh the Worldroot.
If it's any consolation, you're the only one this has happened to- I have my Silver Samuari sitting crosslegged right now and it's a wonder of articulatuion and movement. You got a lemon- you'll find a perfect one when the stars align and the evil of the Giraffe is eclipsed by the light of a cheap Amazon purchase... Amazon.com: Used and New: Marvel Universe Greatest Battles Action Figure 2Pack Wolverine Silver Samurai $20 beans with delivery- about what I paid as a preorder from BBTS (if you include their shipping). Totally worthwhile for the Samuari alone. |

U can fix the leg. It isn't that hard but I am sure you are debating returning it or tossing it.

Same concept. I had a Marvel Icons Thor and his leg broke at the ball joint. You use a screw, cut it with shears. Use a smaller drill bit and drill a small hole. Then screw each side in. You have a 3 3/4 fig so it is done on a smaller scale but you have to be careful to center the screw and holes. |

Recently my buddy Matt and I have been experiencing some serious hostility from a local Toys R Us. As soon as either of us walk in the door we are harassed by employees and managers that follow us and watch our every move. Last time I went in was when Matt told me they got a new shipment in and he picked up a couple on his way to a class, so I stopped in and checked it out. Some old lady working there (a manager) followed me from the moment I walked into the store, and aisle to aisle as I checked out what was new she was keeping an eye on me. Just yesterday before a concert Matt went into this same store while me and another friend sat in my car waiting for him to pick up the DCUC figure he wanted, and that same old lady walked outside, and pretended to mess with the exit door by where we were parked. She kept staring at us, and it was the most awkward thing I've experienced so far at a TRU. I am tempted to file a complaint or to just walk in one day and tell them to their faces that they are harassing us, but I haven't decided which plan to go with yet. I understand that I am in my 20s and collect action figures, but don't fucking harass me, I am a paying customer and TRU is barely staying open at this point anyway.

Dogfashiondisco.. I feel your pain and to me that shit ain't exceptable. As long as your not a stereotypical teen/young adult, that steals, makes messes or loiters, they have no right to accuse you of shit and perhaps stealing. I hate it when senior management/ older folks stereotype us young people. I'm 24 myself but I get look all the time heading down the toy isle covered in tattoos doesn't help me either. But I pay cash so fuck off IMO. Next time your in there and that lady comes up, ask her if there's something she wants, assuming her response is nothing, then say " good then do you mind stop staring at me, or I'm going to take my $$ and business elsewhere. And you can man, or ask to speak to the supervisor of the toy dept or store manager, and tell them that your not going to put up with being profiled, you come in here on a regular basis and spend hard earned $$ to buy toys as your a collector, if it continues you'll take your business elsewhere or online and will call corporate headquarters... I don't have a tru near me, I have a zellers though same as target, and I called corporate and got a toy manger and staff member fired for harassing me and my friend because we're grown men buying toys.. We dropped like $100-200 each that time.. bought near entire wave of MU and some Tron stuff, and they told me to empy my pockets and shit when I got to the cash register.. I pulled out my wallet, ballin full of $100 bills and told them to fuck off, or I'm not buying shit and if you don't get your fucking hands off me I'll break them. *I would of, called corparte and spoke to a head up excutive and withing 48hrs got a call saying these reps were terminated and got a gift card haha! so it pays to stick up for your rights is what I'm getting at. especially with big companies, they want possitive feedback and outcomes, 1 bad event can make tons of bad publicity especially in the modern internet era. As per the original subject, likes that pimp intro description, and I agree the level of qc on the 2packs is somewhat less then the single carded figures. I have several 2 packs and they're slightly lesser quality in my opinion... but I want the 2pack u got bad, same with the deadpool 1. hopefully it's fixable or returnable,... call hasbro they may send u a new 1.

I agree with the stereotyping comment and appreciate the support and all, but I probably shouldn't have started off the F-Bomb trend, haha. I'll probably confront them about it sooner than later and if that doesn't meet my expectations than I'll talk to corporate. I'm not a big fan of corporations though, so going that route isn't exactly appealing. I did recently talk to the District manager of a Target to report some jerk employee who was apparently having a bad day and after he decided to harass me when I asked him to help me out in the electronics department (he was in his 30s-40s, bald, and pretty damn rude) I started to walk out of the store after being angered by his attitude, and after making my way toward the front of the store I crossed paths with him again and caught him talking to his boss over a walkie-talkie about me while making very rude comments about me. I was actually really offended at the time and mentioned it to a manager before officially leaving, but they said the employee "just left for the day" so I called the district manager about it. That person said they were going to terminate him, but who knows? These stores are a joke, and I'm not laughing.

Don't be afraid to demand customer service. Talking to a manager is always an option, and they're usually inclined to be on your side.
Back to the original post- I have not seen either of the new 2-packs anywhere yet. i hope no legs fall off of my figures when I get them. |

That really sucks about the leg. ESPECIALLY if it was the only one. Hopefully, you can fix it.
As far as the harrassment, I've experienced the same crap at my Zellers with the floor walker. I talked to customer service and nothing was done. The next time she followed me around I made a huge scene. I know it sounds childish but, it worked. She leaves me alone now. I guess it being a saturday and busy helped. LOL |

I would let them follow me, and make them get everything for me. Who wouldn't want a personal aid?

^ Haha
That sucks about SS. I opened mine finally last night and he was fine. Loose in the leg joints in some places, but fine otherwise. Friend seen about 5 of this pack at a WALMART of all places! He already had one so left them all there. But price after shipping to help you out sounds like it'd be no less than the 20 others were talking about above. So that sounds like a solid deal. I paid 18.07 after tax at my TRU in person. >< |

Alright folks, cross your fingers, but the krazy glue has dried and this sensitive surgical precisions may have saved this figure. Maybe. Gonna see....

Congrats on the successful repair.
As far as the retail harassment goes, I get harassed more by other customers asking me where the restrooms are. About 90% of the time I'm in TRU is on my way home from work, so I'm basically wearing a suit minus tie that comes off in the car. How that makes it look like I work at TRU is beyond me. TRU employees all wear red polos and kaki pants from what I can tell, so I'm not sure how a guy not looking like he just rolled out of bed works there, but I get asked constantly. Same thing when I'm in Best Buy.
