How ridiculous. I doubt it has anything to do with true cost/benefit analysis. They probably just couldn't do a good design job. Just stupidity.

So you're telling me that NECA can produce the amazing figures that they do with all of the sculpt, paint aps, articulation, accessories, etc. at their price point but ComicCave can't produce a Starboost armor with a few interchangeable hands at a $100 price point? difficult to believe that

It all depends on what they were trying to do. The others in the line are almost entirely metal, very heavy in hand. They have moveable flaps, weapons systems, effects pieces, electronics. Very different materials than what NECA, Hasbro or DST uses.

Toyark photographers took some shots of the Comicave displays at recent conventions, and I remember looking at them and thinking that the figures looked tantalizing. Has anyone here actually purchased one?

I have their Mark 43, and it's a pretty great figure. The paint job is great and metallic, and it feels nice and weighty. It's also got lots of points of articulation, though not all of them are quite as useful as they could be; the neck's a bit restricted upwardly, the ankles are a bit annoying, and the torso articulation is a bit limited when not extending it, but other than that, it's pretty well articulated. It has a good number of accessories; 5 pairs of interchangeable hands, repulsor blast effect pieces for the hands and feet, a wrist missile in firing position, and a pair of shoulder guns. The light-up effect looks good, as well. One thing that annoys me, though, is the lack of the poseable flight stand that came with their Mark 23 Shades and Mark 40 Shotgun. I know they wanted to make the packaging more compact (it's about the size of an iPhone box), but without the stand, the number of display options you get is greatly limited.

I have their Igor. One of my favorite pieces. This was the other armor I wanted the most out of Iron Man 3 suits. Hope it gets a Figuarts release or something.

I'm surprised they would cancel this armor. I know a lot of people really like it. It seems odd. If I were collecting these I'd want ALL of the house party armors. So, if this was cancelled, I'd probably stop collecting them. I'm glad I jumped in on the hot toys versions. Man they beautiful. I wish hasbro had given us some 6" house party armors like.. Centurion, starboost, shotgun, striker, heartbreaker, hot rod, hammerhead, Midas, bones, red snapper, and all of the repaints and parts swapped armors you can get from those like tank, Python, mark 9, gamma, disco, blue steel, peacemaker, shades, Casanova, Romeo, fiddler, mark 14, etc. Oh well, hot toys is good enough.. I can't wait for sneaky and blue steel.. But wow, sneaky looks unbelievable. |

this is a lame excuse
"due to development cost inefficiency. It is Comicave Studios’ ideal to produce collectibles that are of high-quality and affordability to collectors." Are they not making a hulk buster ? Which might cost a bit more than their average figures ?? and they made that igor armour as well.... |

I interpret "development cost inefficiency" to mean "strapped for cash."
