The mechanism they use to attach the guns is pretty much rubbish though.

Thanks for the info mate, and great pictures from both you and Dragon Prime!!KREXX one of the former SDS sculptors is setting up on his own,and he should be debuting his Bane headsculpt this weekend,so il wait til i see that before making a decision,iv gotta say i do think the Quicktek concept is great, when i was a kid if i had a Joe who you could push into a box and he comes out armored up,i would have LOVED it,again with Mattel its a great idea executed with poor figures......

PS il copy over the headsculpt image as soon as he posts it........

This is what a proper 4" DC Universe line should look like:
Batman & Robin:

Superman, and Lex Luthor:

GL corp:

Batman Beyond, and Shriek:

Batman Beyond Batmobile:

How I built it:

Flash:

Nightwing:

Final Battle Superman Red Son VS Col. Hal Jordan:

Dr Fate:

New DCU Superman, and GL:

Mr Freeze:

Aquaman:

Star Sapphire:

Dexstarr, Bzzt, and B'dg:

Jong Li: Dragon Lord Green Lantern of ancient China:

I have no appreciation for Mattel's crap, but I do like the characters.

Rodimus - Great job on all of those figures! Thank you for making me pine for 3.75 versions of Flash, Dr. Fate and Mr. Freeze. *sigh*

Awesome customs guys , DC has great characters but mattel just fails at making 3.75" figs hope they taking notes , that good sculpts are not always enough , a little more added articulation goes along way to making figures awesome.

I don't know if it's been posted, but Big Lots carries a DKR line of three 3.75" Batman figures, one being the regular black version, for $5 each. They're the same exact figures as are in the regular line in TRU, Targets, etc, only on a small card. The other two Batman figs are just different color uniforms (gray and orange).

I didn't know there was a bigger card. That's the kind of card my Batman in the first post came on - but from Fred Meyer. Right now they're on sale there for $3.99.

That's the nice thing about the TDKR figures - their price point actually makes sense, especially at sale prices.

I used to love the JLU line. But, then I started to crave articulation and got rid of them all. DCIH turned me off for the same reason, and by the time they started releasing characters I wanted, I wasn't giving the line much attention anymore.

Always did want that SDCC Starro though. One of my favorites from the comics. The Spores too. But seriously, $20 a bag just to get 4 of them? Some of the EBay listings add him in with the Starro box itself, but still, that's a lot of money for him. Wish I could find someone who had it and was willing to trade it for a custom or two. lol

The new Batman movie line really is bad, but the prices haven't been. Not around here at least. $5 or 6 for the single card guys, and the Target 5 pack only cost just over $20. And I found that a worthwhile price just to rip a few heads off. I'm especially fond of Bruce Wayne and that stealth Batman or whatever it was.

A DC line could be just as huge as Marvel, if they would just add some worthwhile articulation to their guys. Infinite Heroes started to, to my understanding, but it just seems to have been a case of too little too late. And none of the movie lines these days are sporting much in the way of articulation to begin with.

Exactly. Those figures are made for kids, and the price is for kids as well. Us adults can just figure out ways to make them better.

I'm fascinated by the Stealth Batman head, and I really dunno what to do with it. Part of me wonders if I could sand the ears down a bit and turn it into a Marvel Black Panther concept.

Or maybe an Iron Batman.

The stealth Batman head has an interesting design to it. It could work on an Iron Man body for a cyber Batman or something. Just what seems most befitting to me. Pop it on the Mark V. lol Or, fix up the Hypervelocity armor to look a little more Batman-like. He's got similar gauntlets.

Amazingly, this is my only DC appreciation. In this scale at least. Jason Todd:

I can't believe I've only made one DC custom. How did that happen? lol

That Aquaman's recipe is:
head: Matt Tracker, or Crimson Guard Fred (can't remember which)
Upper body: Cap w/ the star shaved off, and then I carved the scales where it had been.
legs: Guardian

I'm working on a New DCU Aquaman too
