Yeah I would love to see Poison Ivy from Arkham Knight as a MV figure. But at this rate I'm banking on ReAction being first, cranking out a line of figures based on Gotham. They really seem to be snatching up so many licenses, and they surprised us by getting Arrow and The Flash. So maybe Gotham, CBS' Supergirl, and the CW's iZombie are next.
I too think ReAction generally is terrible. Only the original Alien figures are cool because they're based on unreleased Kenner protos, so these are more "authentic." It does suck that the first 3.75/4" version of Captain Cold will come from ReAction. Needless to say, since I do admit to enjoying Gotham, I will consider what ReAction does with the license. I think they really should do away with the retro-sculpting style now, especially for licenses based on more current TV shows and movies. But maybe they're not allowed to do that when it comes to the DC shows they've licensed -- DC maybe ensures that ReAction figures must have a certain degree of "crappiness". lol Last edited by thewriteguy; 03-02-2015 at 01:58 AM.. |

I do find it strange that there will be four Deathstrokes on pegs in some places at the same time. Though there cant be many places that have the Injuatice pack available at retail. Still three in the same scale from different toyline still has to be some kind of first

The only places that seem to have Injustice at retail chains are Barnes & Noble and Books-a-million. I heard you could also special order them at Gamestop.
I know Target might have the Funko figures since they have them now. So that would only make 2 Deathstrokes on the pegs at the same time. |

Yeah that's funny about all the versions of 3.75/4" Deathstroke. Are there a total of six of him? Is he really that popular of a character? (I myself have no idea.) Besides Batman and Joker, I wonder if he could be the DC character who's been rendered the most times in 3.75/4".
Would be neat to see if someone collected all the Deathstrokes together and took a line-up picture. Last edited by thewriteguy; 03-02-2015 at 08:43 PM.. Reason: better facts |

Right off the top of my head/memory, I count there have been eight 3.75/4" Jokers: Mego, TDK, Infinite Heroes Crisis, Infinite Heroes 75, Injustice, Evergreen, Unlimited, MV. (I'm not counting color variants, only unique sculpts.)

I found a multiverse hush at walgreens today. Almost pulled the trigger but the paint on the eyes and lips looked funny. I passed at $12.

Do y'all think the reason we got the Harley Quinn and Joker we got from retail which, is different than the more detailed version at sdcc is because the mold factory's were not able to capture the smaller details?

But consider also how detailed the Dark Knight and Infinite Heroes figures were. I think Mattel switched to a different manufacturer to cut costs, and the results show how lousy this has been (e.g. softer detailing, derpy misaligned eyes). I bet this happened starting with the Man of Steel figures -- compare the detailing of this line with the Dark Knight Rises. The simplest comparison to ask: Why did the Infinite Heroes line generally look great -- and these were meant for kids! -- compared to MV? I wonder if the Evergreen/Unlimited line is produced by a different manufacturer, not the same one doing the MV. Last edited by thewriteguy; 03-04-2015 at 10:52 AM.. |

I theorize that the ones displayed at the cons were hand-sculpted originals. Either that or the way they were photographed made them look more detailed and better than they actually were.

To be fair the later figures from Infinite Heroes were a lot better proportioned than the first few waves. The Best Buy exclusive First Flight Hal Jordan was pretty sweet.

That's a nice pic!
I saw my first in-store Multiverse figs since Zod... Origins Hush, Bats, and Joker. Holy crap, the photos of Joker are nowhere near as bad as the thing is in person. Other than looking like a butch lesbian stereotype with her makeup gun stuck on the "whore" setting, it looks like his undershirt is Caucasian flesh colored and I initially thought it was a fake skin.

I haven't a frame of reference for that. Never heard of H.I.M.

So if you paint the hair black on the unmasked Cap 2 head it makes a pretty damn good Bruce Wayne head.

Yup. I was going to add the silver/grey but I think it looks fine all black. Kinda Batman Begins/Returns.
If you do this be advised the ball joint for the head will have to be changed or reworked somehow. At least for the Injustice Batman. I already took it out earlier since I gave him the Arkham Knight Batman head. I don't know how it will work with one of the Multiverse Batman...s...Batmen?
