I heard from my LCS guy that DCC has pretty well imploded and for me to not get my hopes up for any new product any time soon.

I've heard that DC stuff in general just isn't selling right now. Neca and Mezco seem to be the only companies producing anything that fans want right now. I'm hoping for the best with the upcoming DC Essentials figures but I really don't see any longevity for DCC figure lines.

EDIT: just saw the front page haha... yup July. Let's hope that there is interest. I sure hope they see a bump of sales. With Mattel dropping the ball (sorry, just my opinion), DC needs all the help that they can get.

So, I am interested in getting the BTAS Batman mold, but was wondering which one to get? All I really want is a good head/ face mold and the grappling gun. A quick look online shows that the Phantasm 2 pack version has new head sculpt compared to the original figure and slightly different coloring, but it doesn't have the grappling gun. How is the default face in the expressions pack compared to the original one? Also, is the coloring of the figure different than the original one? I know there is a cloth cape - can you actually get it into a pose like in the cartoon intro?
For some reason, it's not letting me embed an image of the cape pose from the intro... Any information would be great - thank you? P.S. Any news on Justice League DCAU figures? I would be down for getting the entire original 7 members in toy form |

^ Also, what about the bat signal 2-pack version? The cloth cape seems to be different than the expression version

I have the single release and the Phantasm 2 pack and the changes in color are barely noticeable. DCC stated that this was done so that fans could uses the extra heads and accessories with the other BTAS Batmans. I don’t think the Bat Signal 2 pack came with accessories since it was meant to give fans a Batman to use with the Batmobile.
I don’t know what you want as far as the face sculpt goes. But if you don’t like the original one and want a grappnel gun, then you’ll need to get the expressions pack. |

Thanks for the response. How is the cloth cape? They appear to be different for the phantasm 2 pack and the expressions pack? Can any of them be put in the intro post when he is on the bulding and lightning strikes in the background?

Batman from the Phantasm 2 pack has a plastic cape. I’ve never heard anything about the cloth capes having wires in them. Here is a link to Toyark’s gallery for the expressions pack: Batman Animated Series Expression Pack Photo Review - The Toyark - News

Sadly, & it's just my opinion, the DCUC Timmverse was awesome & I have all of it on DVD but being that it ran from 92-2005, & is hardly even shown on TV anymore, today's kids just don't know or care about it. I think vast majority of DCUC collectors are those of us that grew up watching BTAS/TNBA/Superman/JL/JLU/Batman Beyond on Fox/Kids WB/CN. They also didn't show too much faith in Supes villians gallery as they mostly just went with Batman's rogues gallery. Add Mattel dropping the ball with the DCU & it seems like dark times for the DC action figure lines nowadays. DCUC line was the last time that DC action figures really enjoyed success imo.

Ah, my mistake I meant the Batman and Robin 2 pack. Saw the gallery a few days ago but there are no poses other than static ones with the cloth cape. Figure there are no wires but wondering if the cloth is very soft and flexible which would permit additional poses with assistance versus a firm cloth

I would imagine that the cape is firm since it's 2-ply. Just quickly looking at pictures and a couple of Youtube reviews, the cape lays flat in all of them and never seems to bunch up or move side to side. I think that if you really want to create the pose from the BTAS intro you'll either have to settle for the standard plastic cape never being out to the side, replace the 2 ply cape with a single ply cape for poseablity, or buy/make a custom cape that is poseable.
If you don't like the stern expression from the single release AND what a grapnel gun, then the expressions pack is your best option. It's about $33 on Amazon right now with Prime shipping. The single release is sold out at BBTS and is only available on Amazon through 3rd party sellers who want $29. |

Gotcha - last question. Is the cape removable on the original mold just like the subsequent ones? Or was it made removable just for the later releases? Thanks

Sorry I didn't see your question before now. I've been busy and the thread got bumped down too far.
I've never tried to remove the cape from my BTAS Batman but my understanding is that it is removable. DCC mentioned in their preview of the expressions pack that all of the heads and capes were swappable with all of the previously released versions of BTAS Batman. |

I would've liked more Batman Animated releases too but you can see, with people picking these up years late at half price, there just wasn't any interest in the marketplace.

I was just watching Toy Hype USA's interview/walkthrough with Jim Fletcher from DCC. In the last minute of the video, they asked if the BTAS line is finished and JF's only response was that they had to meet with the sales team before making any decisions. He did say that he wanted the line to continue but that at some point it would have to come to an end. Nothing was ever mentioned about Justice League or Superman.

Not posting any images because I think Toyark frowns on linking to the completion during SDCC but TNI has pics up of BTAS Gray Ghost, Two Face, Scarecrow, and Batman on the Batcycle. The Batman also has an ab crunch, double jointed knees, and a new style of hips.

Just in case you've missed it, the blu ray release of Batman: The Animated Series is up for preorder. It'll be released on Oct. 16 with the current price listed as $112.99. The set will have all episodes, the movies Mask of the Phantasm and Sub-Zero, and three Funko POPs (possibly small ones?).
Here's a list of the special features and a shot of the set: https://www.polygon.com/2018/7/23/17...y-this-october And here is the preorder page for Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Batman-Comple...dp/B07FPRXFJ1/ |

Yeah, the Pops aren't a draw for this set. I might pick this up on Black Friday depending on the price but it may be better to wait until it gets released in standard blu ray packaging. Batman '66 originally came in a huge box with lots of physical extras and was around $150. Now the blu ray comes in a standard box and costs $50 on Amazon. It's not the greatest timing for this set since BTAS is supposed to be included on the DC Universe service.

Looks nice but I'm good. I already have almost all of the DCAU just need Mystery of the Batwoman, Static Shock, and The Zeta Project.
