I don't think Arkham Origins gets enough credit. The game wasn't perfect and didn't really add any new features (just new gadgets) to the franchise but way too many people made it sound like the game was a cheap copy-n'-paste of the previous games. Origins had a pretty neat story, good graphics, and some nice new castings for the voices of these iconic characters. It is probably the best non-comic depiction of Bane even though it frustrates me that he never once actually breaks Batman's back in game, but J P Blanc did a good, menacing, not too heavily accented voice that fit the character pretty well. Troy Baker also did a really good job as the Joker and does sound pretty close to Mark Hamill's Joker from some of the earlier episodes of the animated series, not as good as Hamill but if Hamill ever decides he's done for good with voicing work then I'd say Baker should become the new go to Joker.

Yeah, he appeared in that and the Mystery of the Batwoman movie, which is where they gave him that horrid accent.
I think his appearance in TAS was to show that he was really only a one trick pony and there was nothing more behind his character other than a marketing gimmick. Poor Bane. As we have said he really was just a gimmick villain upon his premiere regardless of whether or not he was well done. I think he was solidly delivered from the start but was never meant to be played out beyond Knightfall. But then he came back in Bane of the Demon and Legacy and he was awesome again! Then years later Gail Simone kinda reinvented him for Secret Six and I thought it really worked to show his evolution into a more chill guy. Then the new 52 happened and he's back to a drug dependent monster state. He's one of my favorite Batman villains but it all rides on some of his earliest stuff and the rare occasions that other media gets him right.

I like Bane too but he can be extremely hit or miss. I'm probably only one of 3 people that hated him in Rises.

Oh trust me a ton of people hated him in Rises but for some varying reasons. Either it was because he wasn't Latino at all, he sounded like European Vader, he didn't have Venom, he had a metal crab on his face, or "he was just a henchman." I find particular issue with this last one because at no point does anyone say that he had nothing to do with the plan, they just say he wasn't acting alone. Why does the Talia reveal automatically make Bane any less important? Overall I like him in Rises but it was severely different than comic Bane beyond him being a smart guy who kicks Batman's ass.

I'm glad someone started this, I always felt left out of the DCUC and 4 inch threads since I am not a regular collector of them.
For now, I'm all in on these. Everything so far is something I want or at least good filler. Batman is just a really solid sculpt, colors are a nice throwback. Mr. Miracle is my fav of the wave, and I really don't have much connection to the character. Just a sharp looking figure. The other 2 are well done as figures, but a little boring. Filler, IMO. These were on the front page, but I'll share here too: You can keep up with our in-house galleries for the line over time with this link: DC Icons Galleries Archives - The Toyark - News Batman: Deadman: Green Arrow: Mr. Miracle: Wave 1 (Pt 1?) |

Not to mention it completely contradicts the ending to TDK. That last pic is awesome. For some reason though I can not get Mr Miracle to work that well on my Tamashii stands as the picture has him. I do wish DC would give this guys stands though. Hell, there is a peg on the cosmic treadmill for Flash, so why couldn't they give a set piece to everyone? BTW, the gallery pics got GA's bow placement wrong. I shouldn't speak like that though as I got it wrong to, but I was looking at images from The Longbow Hunter and the nudge is supposed to be above his hand sticking out to the left. On that subject though, does anyone know how to get the double arrow to actually STAY in his hand? I've been able to sit it there, but if he moves, it falls out.

TDK ends being all "sometimes you have to lie to make things better overall" and then TDKR was all "lying is never okay and you should always tell the truth."

That and TDK ends with Bruce going to continue being Batman while being hunted by the cops to continue protecting the city, but then we learn that Batman never returned after that night 8 years prior. He was Batman for 9 freaking months and already retired?! WTF?! Oh, and has massive bone damage as if he had been doing it for years.

Got my Batman today and he is awesome despite not being the Neal Adams one. He also scales well with Mattel's Killer Croc. My only complaint deals with the normal missing thigh swivel, but that aside, he is great. Oh, I do wish the gloves could rotate, but oh well. For $18, he was well worth it. I do hope DC releases a Neal Adams inspired version though.

Why does Flash keep getting pushed back? He is the one I want most of all right now and they keep delaying him. I wanted him for Xmas so I could do a red and green thing. I find it strange that Hal is only $25 for everything he comes iwth. Speaking of with, shouldn't BBTS have notified me he is now instock? As for the prices? I'm still baffled at Staic Shock being listed at 39.99 for pre order...

DCC has been pretty crummy at getting release orders down. The animated line has almost completely abandoned the initial plan with the numbers and what not.
