Just an educated facepalm seriously though, his stuff really isnt playable and kinda delicate, I figure that the “playable” stuff is probably gonna be spin masters area but i like to play with........i mean display...,yah display my action figures. im just sad that as soon as mattel starts getting good .( i know i know ) and releasing characters that are really looking good they get they get it yanked. i just hope that they dont throw out wacky scaled figs ya know.

I can understand that. I do have high hopes....do not disappoint me,Todd. I have to believe he has his finger on the pulse of what we want. But,is that what he gives us. I really am more interested in the film aspect of this. The sculpt is there for him..that I guess is not in question. Some of his sculpts that are 2 decades old still hold up. But it’s the articulation and scale. I prefer comic figures to line up with Mattel’s classics, and film figures to look like movie maniacs with neca articulation or better. These are fun times anyway. And this is nothing compared to rumors of where Star Wars and marvel will end up in 2020.

I've seen ENOUGH of what he's done in the current era. I KNOW he KNOWS what consumers want because i used to be on the boards on his site..and have read other things. He just kind of does what he wants to do..and lately...the majority of it are fails. I'm a HUGE Gears of War fan..and had hopes for the line when he got the license...(even though i still gave it the facepalm. i think i bought all five of the figures that come out. The only decent one to me was Marcus Fenix. I can't even get the rest of these statues to stand up correctly IN the pose the should be in.. Because you know changing a mcfarlane fig to a different pose wrecks the aesthetics of the figure altogether.. don't get me wrong..i would LOVVVVVVE for them to be the BEST DAMN FIGURES we've ever seen...but i feel like he refuses to show growth in the right direction..and take a look at what's working now with other popular lines.

I think the biggest problem will see with McFarlane is the lack of product. Hasbro has managed to rally nail the simple buck with add-on gear to crank out wave after wave of characters. In afraid McFarlane will go the more detailed individually sculpted route and we'll see releases like Fortnite- 2 figures a quarter. Superman/Batman... couple months later Wonderwoman/Flash.... couple months later Aquaman/GreenLantern... etc etc etc....

I agree with Comedian and Black arbor. with mcfarlane's new lines coming out he has improved like night and day. i have the Borderlands and Fortnite figs and they are superb and he has finally nailed it. lets just hope he continues what he is currently doing.

Honestly I'm happy to wait if they're perfect or as close to perfect as possible, I like Marvel Legends but I can probably count on one hand the figures that IMO have zero flaws. I know McFarlane won't cheap out and use repainted heads or painted on boot and glove lines...

There are a lot of rumors right now. The main one I here is Hasbro wants to focus on properties they own outright. Now that they own power rangers they have a big cash cow. Star Wars seems to be dying.....and Disney is killing it....but that’s a different story for another day...lol. And with marvel,Hasbro from what I am reading thinks marvel will be less popular once most of the A lister characters are gone. Might be right...could be just rumors.
But the big thing I read is Mattel wants Star Wars. There was even talk at one point of Disney buying Mattel. That seems to have faded though. Fact is all these people that keep saying the know, don’t. Crying out loud,I learned about McFarlane and dc from an add while checking my weather this morning.lol. |

Biggest concern here for me is articulation...to me that's been the Achilles' Heel of nearly every domestic DC 6-inch line and we know McFarlane isn't known for highly-articulated action figures....
I'm expecting quality figures because McFarlane is always on point with sculpt and paint work, but I really need some posable action figures of classic DC characters and both Mattel and DC Collectibles have disappointed me. I have no problem with the line only putting out like 6 figures a year if every character ends up being the best 6-inch version of the character available domestically. I just hope the line doesn't die out. |

As long as they stuck to one artistic style and general articulation scheme they'd already have DCD beat hahaha

neck/shoulders/bicep/double elbows/wrists/chest/waist/hips/double knees/ankles/toes.... that's as good as/better than an ML for articulation- getting toes and double elbows on female figure(s) over calf and thigh swivels... McFarlane can do articulation.

First, I didn't know they were that articulated. The one I saw in store seemed stiff. Second, what is the range on 'em because that does matter?

Well alright then. I stand corrected, hopefully this approach is applied to the DC stuff (obviously not the fortnite aesthetics but the articulation and accessories).

McFarlane can definitely do articulation when they make an effort.
