They take a bit to get use to. If you pick up a Essentials for the first time you’re probably gonna take a bit to get him to stand. But I’m onto my 18th Essential and have figured out how to work with them.
Basically the ankles will be too far forward or backwards. You’ll have to finagle to get them to stand. I suggest watching a “Brad the Dc universe geek” Video review on YouTube. To see what I am talking about it’s kinda hard to explain. But nonetheless They’re fantastic figures just have to get used to their ankles. Probably my favorite Dc figs outside Dcuc/multiverse |

As long as you make sure the little circle "stamps" are on the inside of the ankle, it is a lot easier to work with them and you shouldn't have any problems. I have every Essential and not a one has fallen using that configuration.

I ordered the dc essentials one as i needed a redhood figure in my small DC collection. JayC does height comparisons for you , he is a bit taller, but varies on your preference , i heard the multi-verse one has no guns, only guns holstered guns, unlike the essentials one Quote:

Does the Essential head fit on the Multiverse 'hood body? I think the Essential one looks a lot better |

I think it does, as I've seen the multiverse unmasked head on the Essentials body. I'd imagine it would work the other way as well.

The four horsemen sculpting on the figures was good.Their sculpting suited Darkseid and Orion. As well as Mister Miracle. But their version of Big Barda was a missed opportunity. The DC Direct version in the early 2000s was much closer to the Jack kirby art in the original comics.

4H nailed nearly every character they set out to do and the sculpt for Barda was among the very best (variant included) of the line, but I agree. Barda was shorter (sans helmet) than Miracle when she should have towered over him and many other figs.
Their Wonder Woman, which also endures as one of the better Wonder Woman figs to date across lines, was also a tad short. However that fig benefited slightly from heeled boots making her a little more statuesque. |

I've noticed that some collectors conflate being a fan with liking EVERYTHING in a line or by a manufacturer - 'Fan' being operative of fanatic, or zealot (see Wesley Snipes and De Nero). That's never been me, and, IMO, that approach dilutes the meaning of liking something, but whatever. I suppose the proper term for me and ANYTHING I like is 'supporter'. Were I to create something to sell, I believe I might prefer 'supporters' over fans as they are capable, through their objectivity, of supplying constructive criticism that could improve the process. ...deep thoughts by NOT-Jack Handy. |

I've said it before but this talk of Big Barda makes me say it again, I really want a new two pack of Barda and Scott. Maybe with the New Gods getting a movie it could happen.

I hate Mattel for making the blue boxes much harder to open from the bottom than they needed to be.

Metamorpho was definetly a cool & unusual choice for the first wave BAF! Killer Moth was great at showing how deep this line was willing to go for character selections to! As someone who was a subscriber to the Matty line and generally enjoyed most of the selections I cant express how disappointed I was with Red Hood after hearing he would be the next figure its just...why? Such a waste of a slot (along with Batzarro!) No worries about including the entire 12 pack, I never managed to get that either but it did look pretty amazing! Cool wishlist, I really wish we had gotten more Flash villains (hell Flash could have had his own sub line like Batman & Green Lantern did!) Firefly would have been good to see as well along with Gordon and I did plan on using the Batman 80th Ivy as a BTAS version but thats before the actual figure came out LOL! |

Ha, yeah that’s probably why I lurked Metamorpho so much, he was the first Baf I ever completed and he’s such a weirdly awesome character.
I was going to put Batzarro instead of Red Hood but I couldn’t do it. Ha. Batzarro is bad yes but Red Hood made me feel like they just choose that outfit to make us mad haha. Man exactly!!! Flash Villains have been underused and produced. I would’ve killed ffor a Flash sub line(You should’ve worked for Mattel haha) I’m partially sad to see Mattel’s Dc figs come to a end, but hopeful that Mcfarlane does the license justice, I’m still wondering why we’ve never got a 6-7inch scaled Heatwave. What would you say is the most underrated Dcuc/Mattel fig? Mine would probably be Copperhead(even with lack of tail still) he’s one of the Dcucs I’ve actually got plural of. Still have a sealed and loose one haha. |

If I had then Flash would have totally gotten a seperate line (and Wally West Flash would have been a variant of Barry Allen Flash way back in wave 7 rather then waiting for the Matty line several years later!) Girder or Tar Pit would have made good CNC's choices! I think Grodd is very underrated, especially as MOTUC even used the sculpt for Shadow Beast & Gygor. So was the Ted Kord Blue Beetle and the DKR Batman (which used the MOTUC buck) |
