Yahoo!! Now that was a good choice! I was just thinking about whether or not they would make her in the line. Stoked!

You never know, they could over-produce this one, since it's a Fan's Choice.
But yeah, not surprised Raven won. I knew she'd win the minute I saw she was on the list of choices.

Winter 2010? wtf? That's more than a year away. Aren't they on Wave 11 now? So only 4 waves in a little more than a year?

This is the biggest rigged election since-- Just kidding.
Seriously, though, this is total bull. Poll or not, they would have made a character this popular anyway. You want a real fan's choice poll? Have a list of obscure characters who AREN'T in cartoons that are still on the air and let them choose. I have a feeling they'll just take a Batgirl body, repaint it, and give her a new head and cape.

You know they won't. She'll most likely be based on the female buck, but she'll have a custom belt, gloves, head, hood, cape and boots. The four hoursemen wouldn't do a half-assed job.

Don't see what's Hasbro-ish, unless you mean saving money and making smart-decisions. The re-use of body parts is not only to save money, but to be practical and consistent. Humans are a mostly Homogenous spieces, moreso in comics where everyone is of peak human form and wear mostly skin-tight costumes. Why they'd need to make an all-new Raven as you're implying (not saying that's what you're saying, just going out on a tagent) would be redundant since it'd just end up being more-or-less one of the two the standard female bodies anyway.

You do know those "crappy repaints" are done so that they can have more money to make all-new moulds, right? Without them, new moulds wouldn't be as cost-effective, and we'd see less figures, with less detail and poorer engineering. And some fans to appreciate the homages. This isn't anything like that at all. This is done out of lack of the option for anything better. Why make a whole new body when you just have to retool everything that's different? And these are figures fans demand, since DCUC is a collector-aimed line, wheras collectors make a small, small fraction of a fraction of Transformers sales. Comparing the two is like comparing apples to Bill Murray.

Wait, Caddyshack Bill Murray or Zombie Bill Murray?
But to add to what SL said, a lot of new molds are designed so that at least 2-3 characters can be done with minimal changes. So some of those redecos are planned from the word "Go". Also, certain character designs are so similar to each other that if a mold is made for one, the others are a distinct possibility. Look at the TF Seekers and Cars for Transformers or most Joes/Cobras. Redecos are just a fact of toy collecting.

Absolutely, and there's nothing wrong with that when they work, like with the Seekers. But there are bad examples, mind you, such as Zartan as Major Bludd...
