Meaning do you prefer to go out and find your toys, Or do you prefer buying online and the toys come to you. In most cases aside from the cost of the figure you're paying some sort of extra. Hunting for me requires minimum 1-2 buses if not a cab or 2, followed by 1-3hrs of walking. Online shopping costs me shipping and in some cases tax +exchange rate. In most cases they're around the same cost. I've just had a bunch of stuff shipped to me and some more on the way and thinking letting the toys come to me is the way to go lol.

I use to love the hunt and still do when my health allows me the opportunity to do so. Not being able to drive really stops me from getting out. Here lately I have been able go get out thanks to a good buddy of mine and all, but I usually end up paying for it in pain from HECK the next day, so I am just going to start ordering online. The hunt isn't worth the physical pain to me any more, but I do love it when I can get out and I find something, found all of Wave 5 the other day. Was a good day. The day after not so good, but I had my plastic goodies to comfort me.

I love to hunt... but there are no store around here that carry what I collect. Ive gone as far as 2 hour drive and nothing! I remeber when the Transformers Animated toys were out, and I was collecting them. Those were ones I could find in retail. Since then my stores don't carry s___!
So now I prefer to pre-order off my local store and then just go pick them up. Sometimes I find something extra there, so it makes me feel I found something. lol |

The hunt it awesome, that feeling of accomplishment after finding that figure you've been after is a great high but, finding that same figure at random, on pure whim on the weekly trip to the store is a feeling like no other. Since it doesn't happen as often as the "hunt high", I'll say the find is better.

Hunting is great unless you need a couple figures and spend all day dragging a poor baby out in the sun buckling and un buckling his car seat only to find nothing. I'd rather trade with you guys, safer than ebay and a much better community

I used to enjoy the hunt. However, I have the absolute worst luck with things. The more badly I want something (It doesn't matter how common or rare it is), is the instant it becomes impossible to find. If I seriously decided I wanted Tuner Mudflap, they would all vanish from my area (And I'm sadly not kidding). And then all online stores would get rid of their stock... and then ebay prices would suddenly skyrocket to *juuuuuust* outside my range.
I enjoy a moderate hunt... but those hunts rarely bare fruit for me. And in this day and age, it's getting much harder to find particular figures in general, due to box retailers POS screwing up distribution (I never found RtS Jazz in the wild. I have two, one was bought from BBTS, and the other from evilbay. Never found a single one out there), and companies deciding stupid ways to pack their toys (like the recent target exclusive TFs. One Spacecase, one Arcee, and 6 Bumblebees or so). This day and age, the costs of hunting (Fuel prices), and deminishing rewards has taken all the fun out of hunting. I no longer enjoy spending literally an entire year week after week, searching for one particular toy. I'd rather pre-order the damn things on BBTS.

The hunt is fun in the store, then if there's nothing there, hunting humans in said store can be fun too.

I enjoy the thrill of the hunt...to me there's nothing like going into the toy aisle and seeing all these great figures lined up. I haven't been on the hunt in awhile(money issues and the fact that I simply haven't been to walmart or target in a long time) so I've been getting alot of help from fellow arkers. Luckily I have a trip planned to walmart here pretty soon, so I hope to strike some MU gold there. I'm praying for the Absorbing Man wave.

The thrill of the hunt is probably 60% of the reason I'm collecting at the moment. If I could travel to more areas full of targets and walmarts, I would!

I would prefer going to the store and finding the toys I'm hunting for to hunting for toys at the store and not finding any.
Since I usualy can't find what I'm looking for I typically pre-order what I want. If I find it while hunting, I cancel my pre-order.

I think we all like hunting, the thrill of finding something unexpected for a decent price especially if it's something you're missing/wanting to add to your collection then sweet. But if you can buy it on ebay or from a fellow arker, the thrill then becomes when will it arrive, and there's another thrill checking the mailbox daily or waiting for that buzz at my door to let me know the postal guy is here lol. It's just an awesome feeling opening up packages of new toys without having to leave your house, it's like a mini version of X-mas.

I dont think anything beats the hunt when actually finding something but most of the time the toy hunt ends up empty handed and in the end most of the stuff you find at retail can be found online for a few bucks more.
Also a lot of items arent even sold at retail and can only be found online.

I used to order posters and video games from amazon while I was drunk. I'd recieve a package or two a few days later and be like "uhh? What did I order...oh yeah! things!"

Hahaha, yeh I need that 2. Sometimes I get baked and go bidding on items and then wake up and check "my ebay" to find out I need to pay for 10 items, and I'm like wtf haha. I try to check the seller's other auctions and buy more to cut down on cost and make the delivery that much more worth it. Last guy I bought from on ebay I bought like 5 MU figures. Instead of payng $7 to ship 1, I paid $10 to ship 5, well worth it in my eyes, and for $30 shipped, I got MU yellowjacket, blue pants variant thing, bulleseye dark blue variant, constrictor and cap series winter solider.

I agree, I used to stop at the store every day or every other day picking the TRU/Walmart/Target on my way to or from work and 9 out of 10 times came out empty handed. Now I go once a week if that and thats usually because I already need something from that store. I've found that occasionally stopping at a store I still see almost everything that im looking for that can be found at retail anyway.

I've heard it argued that buying toys online saves you money on gas and you end up breaking even, and I gotta say; I disagree.
I think you pay more for toys online than you would if you were able to find them in the store. I think the main reason people by toys online is because they can't always find what they're looking for at retail and they don't even want to worry about it. You're paying for piece of mind.
