picked up the venom yesterday. nothing short of a masterpiece, really want to pick up another to take out for display, just for the shear amount of choices.

The Enterprise-E re-release is a great piece of work. DS fixed all the issues the first one had, including an improved paint scheme, cooler sound effects, and a replacement battery cover. It really says something about a company when they take the suggests/complaints of their fans to heart and the do their best to fix them. (Looking at you Hasbro)

If you haven't bought Venom yet, go now! My comic shop told me he's sold out at the distributor already.

Actually, the sounds are exactly the same, with the same cheap speaker that creates distortion. The paint scheme is indeed improved, but still lacking. The paint on the pictured prototype is great, but the final toy has a blocky pattern on the saucer's aztec because they failed to catch the change in contrast. The secondary battery cover is a plus, but overall the toy still needs improvement. Sometimes I think they do this crap on purpose. DST really needs to buckle down on the lack of QC. These toys need to have 100% effort from all departments involved.

I received the Enterprise-E today, and DST STILL just cannot get a good product out to us. Mine was previously opened, the markings are crooked, and I can't believe they STILL used incandescent bulbs! They only added 6 LED's to the nacelle strips, and kept the other lights the same as the first disastrous release. Plus, the light bleed is almost as bad as their TWOK Refit. This one's getting returned. Too bad it doesn't look like the prototype image.
