Howdy all,
I recently acquired a Original Fox Sports Football Robot... not the Version 2.0, which in my humble opinion lacks a lot of detail. I'm very happy with the look of the figure, but one of the problems I'm having with it is that the articulations seem to be all VERY loose. I'm not looking to play with the figure, but would like to pose it in different ways on my desk. But the loose hinges/joints/balls/etc make it very hard to do so... it just wants to slip and fall. Anyone else have an original Robot? Does it have this same problem? Is there a way to "fix" this? I'm thinking back to my childhood and remembering that getting a little sand in the joints always made my figures stiffer, but I'm a little hesitant to go this route as: 1.) I don't want to ruin anything (not that I'm planning on this being an investment piece, but still). 2.) I seem to recall this be a temporary solution. and 3.) There's a LOT of joints on this thing!! |

I have the original Fox Sports football robot, the more recent one in my team's colors, and a Fox Sports MLB robot. Thankfully, none of their joints are loose that I can detect.
And yeah, as stated above, my solution for loose joints is clear nail polish. The problem with these robots is that I don't think the limbs detach easily? They may not be meant to, not sure I want to attempt it. |

I ended up popping out the pins in the hip joints and in the ankle joints. I put superglue inside the joints and let it dry complete, then put it all back together. Worked pretty well except I couldn't get the ankle pins all the way back in... good enough for me, but I'm sure a purest would be aghast as my work!
