Spider-Man: Series 002 - This figure like most of the Spider-Man movie toys has super articulation in the legs allowing for some great signature poses. As you see from the pics you can hang him upside-down or use the web as a weapon. The sculpting detail is just as good as Iron Man with attention paid to both front and back. The joints are also tight and hold poses well.
The one thing I do not like about this figure is the web accessory. If you use it the way its designed it really does not flow with the scale of the figure. Flip it around and you get instant fix (shown in images). I hope the next Spider-Man 3 3/4 figures comes with a web-strand that is designed for him to hang upside-down with a second hand that grabs the web and not a closed fist. This figure takes a little creativity to pose, but once you get it down he looks great hanging from the web. Overall I rate this figure a 6 out of 10. Again it could have used more weapons and gear but the detail and articulation are there. Not as cool as Iron Man but a solid figure I would rate as a buy. I would have liked this figure to come with the web w/suction cups shown in one of your photos, I think that is either from the Animated spiderman figures or from the movie line from last year.
The figure looks great posed, the leg articulation is especially good, as is the sculpted detail of the weblines at this size. |

Still, I'll pick up a Batman and Superman just for the heck of it. As for this Spiderman - WOW! This will be the first Spiderman I've owned since I was a wee child. I had a miniature, non posable Spiderman that I used to carry around with me for a full year. I was told I would sleep with it, have it by my side at the dinner table, etc: until one day my mom washed my clothes and didn't check my pockets. Buh-bye Spidey. This will probably be my favorite as a result of that. Can't wait for the black suit spidey also! |

This one's the 'Pass' for me out of the first offerings. Mostly because he's sculpted a bit too chunky for my tastes, like the sculptor was looking at Romita Sr art when I would have preferred Byrne art being the source. But also because I just finished a MicroMan Movie Superman-based custom of him like 2 weeks ago. Of anyone in the MU, Spidey's the guy that needs 30+ POA, after all.
