Yeah...but with GIJoe and Cobra!!!!!
It is funny, I never played Boom Beach, but when they released GIJoe: War on Cobra, which was basically Boom Beach with GIJoe and Cobra characters, I'm hooked on it. I guess that's how you tell I'm a GIJoe addict...the characters made it so much better! |

So it's just an online Fornite-wannabe shooter? Pass.
The Cobra Island map on the back of the Baroness package shows the potential of a kick-ass open world game like Assassin's Creed or Far Cry where you infiltrate and explore Cobra Island as you try to stop a big Cobra assault on the world. Do that, not this bullshit! Crazy to think the best G.I.Joe game is still the original NES version...and that dropped nearly 30 years ago! |

It's not that crazy. The brand hasn't maintained a high enough mainstream popularity to warrant publisher interest unless there's a larger project connected to it, like getting a crappy movie tie-in game.

I agree. But it needs to be on a major network CBS,NBC,ABC. That way it can get to those who do not have cable or dish.
Like most of you I am always thinking back to those toons.

Ubisoft has their issues, but they would be one of the better companies to approach outside of someone like Rockstar or Rocksteady. Quote:
That can be said of a lotta properties. Biggest issue is no cartoons weekend mornings or after school anymore. Thats how so many of us were introduced to them and now without that there just isn't enough to garner and keep a property in the limelight.
They really need to bring back weekend morning and afterschool cartoons.

My point was that the license had been dormant to the masses for years (really it was close to dead for anyone not in the toy collecting hobby) so no publisher cared about using it. As a point of comparison, the Transformers franchise has endured a much longer run of public awareness and success so then publishers had interest to just make Transformers games that weren't tie-ins (like WfC, FoC, or Devastation). If GI Joe hadn't fallen out of the public eye for such a long stretch of time then we would have maybe seen some standalone games.

^ You know I am kinda surprised The Rock didn't turn GI Joe into a bigger hit/franchise. I mean look what he did for Jumanji... maybe GI Joe Retaliation was a bit too early though... The Rock seemed to explode a couple years later... bad luck I guess.

Jumanji was a well written, fun movie. Neither GI Joe movie was even remotely good, not even in a "It's so bad it's good" kind of way. That's the difference.

^ I haven't seen any of the Jumanji movies yet, but the later Fast and the Furious movies are crappy mindless action movies and the Rock was so popular in them that they made a spinoff Fast movie just for him. That Hobbs and Shaw movie was basically a GI Joe movie and it did well enough that they will do sequels.

I went to 2 Walmarts, 3 Targets, and 2 Gamestops today and all I found at a Gamestop was Scarlett. No CC, no Destro, No Gung Ho, but I bought Scarlett so I could at least justify the gas money.

Amazon. It is a RC Polaris MRZR. Someone on the GI Joe Classified Community on FB got one and did a minor modification so the legs go through the floorboards. I paid $35 for it and spent 20 minutes trying to not cut my fingers off with a carbon fiber knife while cutting through plastic. Worth every penny and it has stickers on it already.

Scarlett's a lot cooler in person than the pictures Hasbro did make her look. I actually kind of dig how her outfit is like the updated combination of her original one with her Ninja Force style. Her joints are nice and tight, though I worry about those drop down thighs. Scultp itself is fantastic, the articulation might be the best female figure they have done thus far period, and the paint job is fantastic. I do find it weird that her arrows are in the wrong direction and I'm not sure how she would grab them with her left arm. She would have to switch her bow into her left hand, grab an arrow with her right, then reload, and by that point she'd be dead. Other than than that minor nitpick, she's great. I do wish the knives had painted blades as it just looks lazy being all black.
Oh, and I went to another Target, Walmart, Gamestop, and a Walgreens without seeing a single Joe.

Thanks. I saw Gung-Ho with camo pants and a removable vest and I immediately thought, "That Chuck Liddell figure looks like a great base for Sgt. Slaughter."
I'm actually not super happy with the shirt. It is a tank top from a Mattel WWE figure. I had to cut it down to fit, but it is still too bulky on the sides and I don't like where it meets the waist. I took the photo from a good angle. I am going to find a doll tank top to use or maybe just give up and paint it on. |
