A small bit of news to pass the time as we wait for JoeCon registration.
Community: Details on the 'G.I. Jeff' Animated Episode "Given that knowing is half the battle, it’s about time you received more intel about Community‘s animated episode. Airing April 3, “G.I. Jeff” pays tribute to the ’80s animated series G.I. Joe, and you can take your first peek at the Study Group reimagined as figures of action in the photos above and below: There’s Jeff (Joel McHale) as Wingman (yes, he has a backpack with wings), Annie (Alison Brie) as Tight Ship, Britta (Gillian Jacobs) as Buzzkill, and Shirley as Three Kids." G.I. Joe Retaliation director Jon M. Chu says G.I. Joe 3 is on-hold. The director recently took to Twitter and Facebook to chat about the film. One of the revelations was that Chu will make Jem and the Holograms before G.I. Joe 3 because that Joe script is “taking a little longer” than expected.
If this news does not tell the fan base what the future of G.I. Joe Toys looks like at retail "GRIM" over the next few years I don't know what will. Very sad news, and very deflating for the G.I. Joe Brand name as a whole. Truly Outrageous! Sound off on the HISSTANK.com forums and let us know what you think.... [Read More] |

We are as tired of waiting as you are. We have been waiting for over an hour for the programmer to clear the test data. It's ready to go when he gets this done. He is remote to us and we don't know what the problem is as he is not responding. So, I'm going to say bag it for tonight and see if we can do this tomorrow after lunch. If not, I'll send an email around noon central time. I know some of you guys are still at work and need to go home. We are pretty sure that you may be wondering why we keep seeing less and less titles for upcoming Comic Solicitations. As the storyarcs come to an end, an announcement has been made over at the IDW Official Facebook Page.
A teaser image has been posted titled Fall Of G. I. Joe. All signs point to the fact that it's a new series that might continue for a long time... but that’s just speculation at the moment. The title; "Fall Of G. I. Joe" is kind of ironic though, when considering the current state of affairs for the brand we know and love. Check out the teaser image, after the jump.... [Read More] |

In 1985, Hasbro introduced children to Listen 'n Fun, a series of cassette tapes that allowed children to emerge themselves in to the world of their favorite characters. Alongside the "Fun" collection, there was also Listen 'n Learn, Listen 'n Play and even Listen 'n Look. Whereas some sets included books, like the G.I.Joe Listen 'n Look Operation Sandstorm set, the G.I.Joe Listen 'n Fun set in particular came with a repainted Tripwire figure. This version of Tripwire, along with the set's cassette "The Cobra's Revenge", have become sought after pieces for many Vintage collections.
Hisstank.com forum member nova has brought us back in time with his amazing Cobra Serpentor figure, a direct homage to the Listen 'n Fun series. Named "This I Command 'n Fun Serpentor" the figure was completed custom cast except for the head that was painted by hand. The figure was created as part of a "What If?" contest that was held on Facebook. You can check out more images and share your thought on this amazing custom piece after the jump.... [Read More] |

Thanks to our friend Mr. Kit Lau and our friends at Oritoy, we now have color sample images of the upcoming Speeder MkI - Raptor from the Acid Rain World line of 1/18th Military Mecha!
These highly detailed, transformable vehicles make the perfect compliment to your G.I.Joe and other 1/18th scale figures. To give you a bit of backstory on the Raptor, here's the official story line from the Acid Rain Blog - Raptor is the nickname given to the Speeder Mk I by the Marine Soldiers. The production of Raptor originated from the defects and inadequacies of the ST-1 Stronghold. Since the time that the Stronghold was mass produced, several several problems were identified. Although Stronghold’s firepower is particularly strong, its speed and defensive ability have become its fatal flaw. To cope with the anti-tank soldiers and the above problems, the strategy of the Marines must be adjusted. As such, an easy to control, flexible, fast and with a certain standard of firepower machine guard came to exist. With the development of Speeder Mk. II has become mature, the Raptor has become less active on the battlefield. Given it’s still reliable nature, it can be found on many battlefields, although it is not the main combat platform used. We'll be sure to bring you any and all updates as they're received. Please note that the attached images reflect the Raptor in it's prototype stage; Final colors will be in line with what we've come to expect from the Acid Rain World. You can share your thoughts on this and all things Acid Rain after the jump!... [Read More] |

Wow, now here's something you don't see every day! Currently found on eBay is an entire case of 1989 G.I.Joe A Real American Hero Dogfight figures! Now, how many come in a case, you ask?...Well, according the information found on the box itself, there's a total of 480 MINT Dogfight figures included!
In case you're unfamiliar with the character, Dogfight and his vehicle, the G.I.Joe Mudfighter, were introduced to the G.I.Joe Mythos back in 1989. Both Dogfight and the Mudfighter also appeared in the ARAH comic book. Dogfight's file card noted that the first thing that COBRA heard was the sound of a "Giant Mutant Lawnmower" coming at them due to the large exposed tail fan on the Mudfighter. If you'd like to check out both Dogfight and the Mudfighter in all it's glory, make sure to check out the G.I.Joe Mudfighter & Dogfight Entry on 3DJoes.com. This case would be great for a store owner or for someone that really, REALLY likes Dogfight. The case breaks down to about $11.46 per figure (before shipping). You can check out the auction here - 1988 GI JOE DogFight Mudfighter Pilot FULL CASE RARE!!!! 3 3/4" RARE 480 PIECE Join us after the jump to share your thoughts on this cool, yet odd eBay find!... Mr. Guy Cassaday took to Facebook today and shared some really neat insight on the 1987 G.I.Joe Persuader. For instance, Guy shares the fact that the front fender label has a serial number. The serial number incorporates his last name!
There's conversation about the proposed Whip Antenna, the "Dead Eye" logo/sticker on the back of the main cannon and more. He even goes on to discuss the vehicles lines and how hard it was for the sculptors to keep his vision for the vehicle intact. You can read more tidbits on this cool piece of G.I.Joe Mechanized history after the jump.... [Read More] |

Gentle Giant LTD - 3D Systems To Produce Jumbo Sized ARAH G.I. Joe Figures
A short while back around Toy Fair 2014 HISS Tank.com reported on a press release that Hasbro and 3D Systems have signed a Co-Venture deal. No further details were given at that time, until this week. Very strong rumors have been surfacing surrounding this deal and it looks like Gentle Giant LTD will be producing Jumbo Sized ARAH G.I. Joe Figures in the near future. None of this information is official until Hasbro or Gentle Giant LTD - 3D Systems announce their official plans so the usual caveats apply. We have attached a poll to this story so we can gauge interest in such a line. Out latest poll had a lot of talk about not having room for 6" Black Series G.I. Joe or another size class for that matter. It turned out to be almost split down the middle. It should be fun to see if people will reverse their tone now that ARAH O-Ring 12" Figures have the potential to enter the Arena of Sport! Sound off and vote in our poll after the jump.... The following information was received via e-mail from the GIJCC regarding the availability and status of Convention Registration Sets and extras. Please read on for more details -
Hello everyone! Just about 30 hours into registration and here is the update - The only packages left are:
We do intend to leave the Non-attending sets available to order as long as there is quantity until sometime after the 1st. When we turn off the attending items, we will allocate just a few for late registration and everything else will go into the non-attending order cue as long as supplies last. Based on the last two year's total set orders, we did make more boxed sets this year to accommodate demand so that no second run would need to be made. Non-attending sets will ship 2-3 weeks after the show. PLEASE keep in mind that it may take most of this week for us to approve all of your orders and that will generate your confirmation email. Please don't call or email about this until the end of the week to give us time to review all of them. Next week you will get your email about your registration pick-up time. If you still need to register, go to GIJoeCon.com and click the registration button. See you in Dallas! Brian... [Read More] |
