Newest Toys For You has posted images of the gold masked, Cobra Viper leader from the cancelled Cobra Viper 5-pack. This set was supposed to be exclusive to Toys 'R' Us, but was canceled. In it's place is an upcoming pack with Footloose, the other figures in that pack are currently unknown.
As most fans prefer the retooled Viper with "fixed" hands, and chrome helmet(as seen in the Cobra 5-pack and Hall of Heroes wave), could this set see the light of day eventually, but with the retooled Vipers instead? The retooled Viper is a very popular army builder, with fans sometimes buying the 5-packs just for the Viper. Click on the title bar to see more! |

HISS Tank.com boards member the-hunter has gotten his hands on an alpha vehicle from G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra; the Armored Panther with Sgt. Thunderblast. In addition, he has shown images comparing Sgt. Thunderblast to the original Thunder, from the G.I. Joe A Real American Hero.
Could the Slugger, Thunder's original vehicle, see release in the movie line? It could possibly fit into a bravo vehicle box, and was last used in the late 90's. Click on the title bar to see more! |

Pocket Gamer was able to get their hands on the G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra video game for the Nintendo DS and has posted their thoughts about it:
In terms of the gameplay, the missions are fairly straightforward, with sub-objectives - such as destroying anti-aircraft missiles, or computers - and an overall 'get to the end of the level' goal. To do this, you'll have to take on dozens of generic enemies, who will continue to spawn from their barracks until you destroy them. Harder opponents include mini-turrets and vehicles, plus various sub and main Cobra bosses. The game has several multiplayer modes too, including Team Battle, a Capture the Flag mode called Warhead, and Defend the Base. Up to four players are supported and character choices are extended with the addition of five Cobra baddies. The Nintendo DS version of the game is the most unique, utilizing capabilities central to the DS, playing from different perspective. Backbone Entertainment is handling development of this game, and between now and August, changes may be implemented to improve gameplay. |

A while back at HISS Tank.com, we revealed new images of an all new helicopter bearing some resemblance to the Dragonfly. A new version of Wild Bill, presumably from G.I. Joe Resolute was shown with it. This version of Wild Bill also matches his appearance in the G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra video game. Hasbro had mentioned that we would be getting new vehicles based on the classic designs, a few weeks back.
Well it looks like this might be the first. Kmart has a new listing for a bravo vehicle; the Dragonhawk Helicopter with Wild Bill. While they have actually put up a picture of the Cobra Gunship with Wild Weasel, through deductive reasoning we can pretty much tell what the listing is really for. Paying homage to the Dragonfly, while combining aspects of both the AH-1 Cobra and AH-64 Apache, the Dragonhawk also integrates internal missle launchers, reminiscent of the Commanche. With futuristic styling, this helicopter can fit in both the Resolute and movie lines. This might even be Wild Bill's vehicle in the game, as some vehicles in Resolute, such as the H.I.S.S. Tank, appear in the movie game. Could more vehicles from Resolute make their way into the movie line? After the series aired, one thing was certain; fans want Resolute vehicles! Unlike the Dragonfly, the Dragonhawk only fits 1 figure. Click on the title bar to see more! |

Comparisons are shown with other figures, including:

Before Channing Tatum was cast as Duke for G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra, another actor was considered to take the role. Jared Padalecki, one of the stars from the TV show Supernatural, turned down the role, as reported by SundayMercury:
He admitted his commitment to the role, which films in and around Vancouver for nine months of the year, has already cost him the lead in GI Joe, the sci-fi summer blockbuster inspired by the action figures that is now starring Channing Tatum. "It is weird because on the one hand I couldn't do it because I was doing Supernatural, but if I hadn't been doing Supernatural who knows if I would have gotten offered GI Joe. "It would have been great but then what, you still have to keep working. I'll get it when its time. I think so many people set goals and then get frustrated when something doesn't happen, but I feel like this is a marathon, not a sprint." G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra premieres on August 7th. |

HISS Tank.com boards member Gyre-Viper has gotten his hands on a G.I. Joe Resolute Scarlett! Scarlett was planned for release in Modern Era waves 15-16. Sadly, we didn't see this figure hit shelves, but it still might make it later on.
Gyre-Viper has taken photos of the picture from all angles. It's evident in these images that this figure has improvements over previous Scarletts:
Could we see this version of Scarlett released later on, in movie packaging, or another way, such as Resolute packaging? It's anyone's guess at this point. Two things are for certain; an improved Scarlett figure was in demand, and Resolute was popular enough for fans to want this specific figure. Click on the title bar to see more! |

Our friends at ACToys have posted up new pictures of the upcoming G.I.Joe Rise of Cobra Nitro-Viper figure.
Pictured in different colors than shown in the past, this is a figure that many have noted that they want to add to their collections. Will that thought change now? Is this a production figure or just a fan custom? You can join in on the discussion already in progress by hitting the discuss button below. |
