HISS Tank.com boards member FirstOne brings us some interesting news regarding 25th Anniversary/Modern Era products at Toy's 'R' Us. He has posted a list of items that are discontinued; inevitable due to the upcoming release of the G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra line. However, some items weren't discontinued.
Discontinued 25th Joe Items:
Some 25th/Modern Era Joe items are showing up in the TRU computer as discontinued, which means TRU will never receive them again. Some items aren't, which means there is hope of receiving stock again. The Single Carded Figures & the new 5 Packs are still listed as Key Items, which means there important items, and there not discontinued. Remember, just cause its discontinued, doesn't mean it will be going on clearance. |

HISS Tank.com boards member The BLAY has posted images of G.I. Joe A Real American Hero illustrations meant for inclusion in The Ultimate Guide To G.I. Joe 2nd Edition by Mark Bellomo. While some of these pieces made it into the 2nd edition, and some were in the 1st edition, most of them did not make the cut.
These illustrations were drawn by Dave Dorman, whose most recent work was an alternate cover for G.I. Joe Origins by IDW Publishing. Shown in this set of images are:

Irategamer has posted a short review for the G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra video game, that he was able to play at E3. In his review he mentions that Firefly will be a boss in this game. Could other Headquarters for Heroes figures be based off of characters in the game?
The character roster is shown at the "1:26" mark, revealing offscreen movie characters such as Backblast and Kamakura(this roster only shows playable characters). |

HISS Tank.com boards member kennywr22 has passed along information regarding the R.H.I.N.O. with Rampage for the G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra toyline. When first revealed, fans were wondering what pricepoint it would be sold at, since it's definitely bigger than the bravo vehicles, an smaller than the echo vehicles.
It turns out that this vehicle will be exclusive to Target stores! This explains why it does not fit into existing size classes set for the movie line. If anything it is between bravo and echo size classes. More exclusives will be coming to Target, and in July you can enter a G.I. Joe game at target.com. In addition, TakaraTomy will be bringing over the R.H.I.N.O. w/Rampage to Japan, possibly in limited quantities with a "USA Edition" sticker on the box. |

Macca428 has posted an image of Ripcord(Reactive Impact Armor) in package. This images shows us what to expect when this figure arrives on shelves in a few months.
The reactive impact armor figures utilize an armored base body, which might be the same armor seen in the G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra video game. We've already seen a green ninja with armor, could this be a sign of things to come, like an armored Kamakura figure, which could then be used to make an armored Snake Eyes? Click on the thumbnail to the left to take a closer look at the latest Ripcord figure! |

The stunning conclusion to the well-received G.I. Joe Cobra series by IDW has hit shelves today. We've seen Chuckles go past the point of no return while infiltrating the inner sanctum of Cobra, or so we thought.
With a lot of familiar sights, the revelation of familiar characters, artificial intelligence troopers, explosions, and buildings burning to the ground, this series literally concludes with a bang. How did it turn out? Click on the discuss button below to check out the review! |

According to site sponsor BigBadToyStore, the G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra movie toys will be launched before the previously announced launch date of July 11th:
Update from Hasbro - GI Joe Movie Toys will now be ready to go 'on-shelf' on July 6th instead of July 11 In addition, HISS Tank.com boards member nosaj23 contacted customer service reps at Hasbro this morning and was told that the movie toys are actually set for release any time now. According to what he was told, the reason for this is: the change is so they can have three months worth of waves on the shelf by the time the movie comes out so if a child sees a character he likes it's available at that time So will we indeed see toys before July? It's certainly possible, there were several sightings of Transformers Revenge of The Fallen toys reported at our sister site TFW2005, prior to the launch date. In fact, there have been a few sightings of Rise of Cobra toys reported here a few months ago. |
