These are nice little statues but I don’t get how they advertise them as "action figures". From that point of view every solid brick is an action figure as well.

Yeah I know I totally agree, it's really confusing. It's like just because they put in an articulated elbow joint or head it's deemed an "action figure". I saw some of the new Walking Dead Color Tops line in store the other day, and as awesome as the sculpts are, it seems very deceptive to market them as "action figures" when the entire lower half of the figure is completely frozen stiff. I know NECA used to do this a bit with some of their lines, but they have rectified a lot of those with "Ultimate" re-releases utilising the same mold but adding much more articulation, especially in the legs. It's like make up your mind McFarlane, action figures or statues! I have a ton of Assassins Creed figs, and they're great. Doesn't look like we'll be getting any figures like that from McFarlane again anytime soon.

If they'd just put some decent articulation in, a lot of these figures would be easy buys. Its disappointing with how good the sculpts are, especially after McFarlane saying they'd have around 15 points, but hard for me to spend money on them when other companies do sculpts just as impressive but are able to incorporate articulation.
Might still get Spawn though. Looks like his arm will bend. |
