The Vintage Grayskull
or the 2000 line's version Personally I like the Vintage one better. I had Hours and hours of fun playing with that that. Plus it looks better visually to me.

I like the way the modern version took a lot of cues from the vintage Grayskull in its shape and arrangement of windows and towers. You provided pictures of it from the front when opened, how about the back and its accessories?

I like the crisper look of the new one from the outside, but it has a lot against it since it was released in a time where big playsets are pretty much dead. You can't deny the original as an absolute classic.

Old school Grayskull all the way. The newer one looked like the rest of the head is too small for the mouth/drawbridge gimmick to look right to me.

old school was so much fun to play with but I think it holds a place in our hearts only because we were kids then. If you took us back in time and showed us both I think the 2000 one would win hands down.

Old school version, baby!
The newer one looks more cartoonish in it's appearance. What with the skull facade easily visible. On the vintage castle, the skull isn't so evident, and looks like it might in real life or something. It's not so perfectly symmetrical as the newer one, which lends even more to what I just mentioned.

Maybe it is that old-school nostalgia, but even though the old one has less fine detail, I like it alot more.

Original Gangsta Greyskull - OGG
I absolutely loved it as a child. Wish I still had it. I currently have the newer one and enjoy it quite thoroughly, especially with the 3.75" figures. But the original is just so cool looking. |

Old School. The new one is definitely cool, but didn't give me the same OMFG feeling that the original did.
We had those old school radiator heaters in our apartment...and my Mom thought it would be smart to sit my Grayskull on the heater. |

It was bad, man. The entire bottom portion was warped in a circular shape (basically warped around the heater)...and Grayskull ended up with a "sad panda" look in it's face. |

I'm dreading the idea that we will be seeing a Classics Castle Grayskull soon. I haven't even removed my 200x version from it's box

Vintage, totaly vintage. 200x was great but the original was more visually interesting!
heres hoping for a classic grayskull but imagine how huge it would be, it would be about the size of a dog kennel! |

If ever they come up with a perfectly scaled Castle Grayskull. They should sell it in sections plus a bonus item or figure. Sort of a Collect and Connect on a much much bigger scale.
