Well. At $100 it's hard to pass up, but I still don't like Gamora's costume. I bet people that paid to build the Rocket BAF are super pissed about this box set, especially since he shouldn't have been a BAF to begin with.

To be honest, that coupon knocks the price of this set down to what it should've been in the first place. sure Groot was a BAF before, but now he's a regular Hulk size release, and Rocket is too small to count as a full figure, but the extra accessories help in that regard.
This set shouldn't have been more than $100 before the coupon really.

I have little interest in the GotG, so I won't be picking this up, but I like the idea of box sets of comic-based Legends being sold at specialty/collector retailers like Entertainment Earth.
I hope that this becomes a recurring trend. The current and upcoming movie-based Legends multi-packs are great for retailers like Amazon, TRU, and Target, but I'd love to see Hasbro collaborate with collector-aimed stores like EE and BBTS, in order to bring us box sets of characters and teams that are unlikely to sell well at general retailers. EDIT: TBH, I mostly like that idea because I honestly think that that approach would be the only way that I'd ever get the Runaways and updated F4 box sets that I want so badly

I preordered the set because I was just thinking the other day about if I should get the movie figures or not, but I prefer comic versions. Plus, this also means I don't have to buy that ugly ass Iron man toy.

I'll attempt to explain, even though I like it. It's too risque. She's basically just wearing a swimsuit and a cloak. It is no surprise women in comics, especially going back to Gamora's creation, are made to be unrealistically sexy. It does kind of counter with her "deadliest woman" spiel that she has no apparent body protection, but Conan the barbarian didn't wear armor either and he kicked some major ass. So yeah it seems to me the gist of people who don't like the look is "put some clothes on!"

The MSRP of 199.99 is because of the recent price jump to both these and MU/Infinite. 13.99 and 23.99 now/soon. Getting close to that $25 mark where I will consider scaling back or at the least being very selective and not rewarding mediocrity....
Anyway, I'll be passing on this. At most I'd want the Rocket head and the Gamora figure without the fabric piece if it's as bad as it looks. It's a cool way to get out teams and is a good set for those that want it. @Frank Richards~I'm on board with that line of thinking 100% The more the merrier. We all have those characters we want, from A-Z List, that have little hope of seeing production for whatever reason. That's why I've wanted a Sub line, but don't think we will see it. The book on how not to run a Sub Line has already been started if they needed some guidance. And man, do wee need a new FF or what? I was excited to find one of the clear movie Invisible Woman figures at a Toy Show recently. I was excited about it, but it felt dirty...

I collect 3.75" only but will be jumping in on EBAY for that Groot!
I love the Gamora outfit and hope that is what we get when Gamora gets her MI release next year.

Super cheap repaonts which they overcharge for.
No sculpting besides heads. The did not want to sculpt her uniform,so they'd rather give us some awful looking soft goods. I mean awful. Drax is reusing the usual Hasbeo apply to everything head... Just another poor xmen boxset-esque effort imo. |

Just another poor xmen boxset-esque effort imo. This has all new heads, a large sized figure, some accessories, and a figure with a secondary head for the same price. I see nothing wrong here. BTW, how are the figures in that X-Men set? I never found any reviews for it.

That would be unfortunate, simply because every other GotG in that scale is using the DnA look.

This set looks great. Glad Gamora has a plastic cape, too.

Drax ended up being a lot better than I was expecting. Still wish Gamora was the Marvel Now, but oh well, least Drax basically gives the option. Not sure if its worth $100 though.

The armored Gamora only lasted some 20 issues. RIP Mass Effect Gamora, I was finally warming up to the look.

Some people have some warped perceptions of value I tell you. If you were to try and track down all of the figures here individually, not only would you spend more money trying to do it, but your team would be a mix of comic and movie universes, as opposed to a single continuity (unless you go for just the movie versions.) Add in the boatload of accessories, and this set is a steal for anyone who wants to add the Guardians to their collection, period.
