Maybe I'm just becoming a grumpy old fan, but I really want build a figures for larger guys again. It doesn't have to be a Galactus size figure, but overall larger people.
Hasbro did a great thing with the Iron Monger, I like that. But I really do not like the Hit Monkey, the upcoming Puck and Rocket Raccoon. I mean, they can be thrown in with someone like Doop was thrown in with Deadpool way back when. Since Hasbro did an Iron Man wave and they are doing a Wolverine wave, I was thinking they should do a Thor wave for the second Thor movie. The build a figure could be someone like a comic style Odin, Scourge, or Volstagg. They could do a line of 6 characters or so and it could be great. Obviously they would do a Thor, they could do the Warriors Three (and if Volstagg was the build a figure if would be awesome!), Enchantress or Sif (or do a running change), I'm sure there would be another Loki and so on. Does anyone else agree on these build a figure ideas? I just wanted to throw it out there. Also, any ideas on "themed" waves and the build a figures they could produce? |

Since i dont collect legends, id like to see BAF's for MU. Too bad the SW build a droid thing was such a failure. But I would have liked to have a larger Apocalypse or Thanos or Juggernaut or whatever.

I get what you're saying. I was collecting MU for a while, and I feel like their larger characters were just bulky, not tall. The gigantic battle things were good for this. If they continue with those I'd be happy because most of the larger guys can fir with Marvel Legends.

I would have preferred the Wolverine line followed the path setup by the IM3 figures. Very readily available (aka easy to find), with a mix of comic and movie aesthetics and characters. The build-a-figure would have been that large, but not too large that it would take up tons of plastic, Silver Samurai that they've shown in the previews. Most importantly, no freakin variant releases either.
Instead, these Wolverine figs will be hard to find, more expensive, and come with a midget BAF. I hope all future movie legends follow the IM3 path and not the Wolverine one. |

I have collected Marvel Legends from the beginning, but I know that cost has gone up so much over the last 10 years that I just don't think we will see much in BAF in the future. I was SHOCKED when I first found out about IM legends having a Monger BAF. It started way back with the Onslaught ML back from toy biz and they have just had to cut cost more and more. Do you remember that the Onslaught wave was going to have a henchmen ( AIM, Hydra agent, Hand ninja, and a couple others, that is why it was an all villians line) with every figure in addition to the BAF figure???? and the Onslaught was going to be closer to 12-14 inches tall. The oil crisis at the time nixed all that and led to the downfall of BAF size and less and less with the figures. Remember that the MOJO wave that each figure was to come with one of the X-babies??? They started OK with Hasbro with Anihillius and Blob, even Red Hulk and the Brood Queen (going off of size not how good of a figure) were worth it at the time, but even as much as I like them even doing characters like Puck and Hit Monkey I remember a time when small "Accessory Characters" like Howard the Duck and The Impossible Man were pack ins and a BAF was worth getting the whole line for.

I'm curious to see what else they upscale and retool from MU.

I never had the means back then to collect the Marvel Legends when Toybiz were the producers. When I eventually bought the whole Apocalypse series and opened it to put him together, I was astonished(pun) to how colossal he is compared to the norm figures. Before I built him the biggest Marvel toys I had was 'King Hulk' of the Fin Fang Foom series. So that was a HUGE contrast in size for me. So in regards to the figures now, I would defintely agree. While some characters aren't bad(I thought Terrax was a cool build), there is that ominous and grand figure missing. And Hit monkey is not a very enamoring figure to build.
So perhaps someone like the 'war machine sentinel' or maybe someone well known like Uatu would be cool. Or perhaps they should do a 'femme fatale' series... don't know.

i agree with you on the puck idea like the doop that really annoyed me as well *sigh* but i suppose they wouldn't sell single carded or too cheaply
I would love to see an army builder figure wave like a full shield agent set with a man-droid baf perhaps something more comic related rather than just movies , toy biz cause there were characters slightly unknown and less famous than others where as hasbro i think only did one which was union jack who to me wasn't well known and they should do that sort of thing . At the moment i have no idea on what they are trying to do apart from sell money easily |

I only really get excited about ML bafs when they are a giant or size changer I can used with my MU. An updated Giant-Man would be awesome or Groot or something like that. I was okay with the size of Juggs though he has been drawn absolutely huge before, but Apocalypse should be taller for sure.

Personally, and I've said this before, I'd like to see some cross pollination of the lines.
Make a few ML figures like Groot or other bigger characters but scaled to fit Marvel Universe. So their increased sized is covered under the Marvel Legends cost. This balances things out for the MU side and can also lead to repackagings like Giant Battle Packs or team packs or otherwise stipulated size differentiated packs. Then this allows the Masterpiece side to cover both MU and ML with the characters that are just that much larger. It also opens the door still to do Marvel Legend Build a figures that can cover both MU and ML if they feel like it. Overall it'd greatly benefit the fans, there'd be more figure diversity and better height variance across all lines. This especially works well for things like Groot, Ultron, Nimrod, and much much more. They teased before with this using Iroman movie 1's Iron Monger that had the opening cockpit and again with the Norton Hulk movie line. Kind of sad to see they didn't take further advantage of it. I'm kind of hoping the GOTG movie takes advantage of this principle though. The cosmic Marvel has the most varied sizes and body types and it'd be a perfect way to give us a new MU shelves Groot(Marvel legends sized and carded figure) as well as a Marvel Legends groot by giving us a slightly larger one for ML shelves with possible electronics that says his catch phrase. That's just how I see it at least. The entire foresight with what can be made where and when to best monetize the properties and both please fans and help give children the heroes they love. |

That's a great approach ^^^^
I agree, it would be a way to make collectors of both lines happy. I never thought of doing Nimord as BAF, that would be wicked. Does anyone remember the Stryfe ML that was teased a few years ago? He could be a BAF I suppose. Hell, give me a whole 90's X-Force wave! |
