I can almost smell Robot Chicken on that Snoke! Great looking throne and Kyber crystal ring pop.

Been thinking about dropping Black Series for awhile now. Especially with the return of the Vintage Collection, these reveals cement that decision. Things like Prototype Boba Fett, and Ghost Obi-Wan are perfect as store exclusives. However it seems like almost half of the Black Series is some sort of store exclusive at this point, and it makes them an absolute pain in the ass to track down. Doesn't help that Hasbro's distribution for this line is an apocalyptic nightmare.
To be honest Star Wars just doesn't work as a full on 6" figure line. Should of just stuck to the greatest hits characters or something. The heart of Star Wars collecting will always be 3.75" figures with vehicles, and I'm glad Hasbro realized that and is bringing it back as mainline next year. In reality most of the 6" Black Series are just scaled up 3.75" figures anyways, seems like a waste of all that extra plastic if you ask me, and you don't get the benefit of getting toys of all those space ships that make Star Wars so awesome. The 3.75" Luke, Rose, and Guard all look pretty cool, but they'll more than likely just be rereleased on the classic Vintage Collection card backs next year, so I'll just wait and pick them up then. |

@ GOR Well said, Star Wars is and always will work best as 3.75" simple as. That is the same reason they won't do Joe's in 6" scale. Everything runs in cycles given a long enough time line. I am.sure HASBRO will shift focus back towards 3.75" in a few years time. The 6" has peaked and is waning now. Distribution is always the big H's bugaboo.
Years ago it was variant figures. Now they can just add extra heads and exclusive figures are their way of driving us crazy. It is actually turning people off chasing them and creating a scalpers market. Enough already. I did notice it is a simple STAR WARS line now, instead of Last Jedi so they can mix old and new and prequel and Rebels and concept stuff all together. Smart that. Looking forward to seeing more. PIMPATINE, pretty sure that big hole in his chest says no. Cool stuff though....also, GREAT name you chose!!! Bravo.

When the BS first launched I was so excited. Now I'm basically import only unless I can find a great deal or it's a character they'll never do like Lando. I don't want cheaply done 6" figures, the first 2 sets of BS figures were great.
Look at that first order set. The same FO Stormtrooper w/ a few accessories for $35? I feel bad for completionists. I'm glad I gave that up a while ago in this line. |

I hate trying to get anything from Gaemstop. The company itself is just peopled with scalping vultures.

Is there a reason Luke's in a white outfit when all the promo stuff has him in black like in Return of the Jedi?

Finally! A Heavy Gunner Stormtrooper in 6-inch scale! Sucks you have to buy a $35 spare parts set to get him, though.

I believe that they are still trying to play off the last movie and possibly much of this one where fans saw him in lighter robes. I think they may be trying to maintain an image for the fans that Luke could still be a good guy.

I'm excited for the 6" stuff, don't care about the 3.75" at all. Finding the money for it all is going to be fun.

Managed to get Hera at the store, and order Thrawn and the Amazon version on the guards online, that's All I wanted, so that's my force Friday. Went pretty well edit: That's probably the best way to buy a trooper

I'm with you. I picked up a few things yesterday, but I'm mostly waiting on the 3 3/4 inch Vintage Collection to return. Star Wars hasn't been much fun to collect since they got rid of TVC. Seems like most of the Vintage Collection reveals from SDCC were just repacked figures from Force Awakens and Rogue One. Hopefully those will sell through quickly and Hasbro will throw some new figures in the line. |
