The Fans Have Spoken! http://www.hasbro.com/marvel/default...3B9CC6E149B9C5 Because you demanded it! The results are in for the 70th anniversary Fan’s Choice and it’s time to reveal the winners. As promised, here’s the list of the top 5 fan favorites as decided by you! #1 – Archangel #2 – Winter Soldier #3 – Havok #4 – Mystique #5 – Mary Jane Watson The response to the “Pick 5” was outstanding and we want to thank the entire Marvel Universe for casting their votes. In fact, we’re so excited about the results, we’re going sweeten the pot and do the Top 7 in 2010! 7 for the 70th just has a nicer ring to it! Can you guess the other two? We’ll be revealing them shortly…in San Diego! |

They'll reveal #6 and #7 of the Fan's Choice at SDCC. We already know up to series 5 lineups. They're scheduled for 34 single figures for this year. The Top 5 (now Top 7) were never going to be released this year. |

Whoo hoo! Freaking Archangel man! I hope they get the wings right too....NO ONE has ever got the wings right for him in action figure form! EVER!
Havok is my 2nd favorite X-man(my fav is Wolverine). Winter Soldier RULES!(Though admittedly I like him better as Cap). |

1-3 are bearable but not ones I would have picked. They are also probably ones I won't buy. Though I may pick up Havok once I get the X-Men Origins Cyclops. But I would have prefered to have cyke and havoc in the same articulation.
4 and 5 though? What the heck?!? Mary Jane is a bystander, and mystique should have gone to X-Men Origins: Wolverine. No X-23 makes me a sad panda. T_T Hasbro really needs to just use X-Men Origins for X-Men figures (Not counting secret wars) and use Fury Files for Marvel Universe figures. Well outside of the few universals like Hellfire Soldiers, and a few others that fit to both. Cause we're seriously lacking in female heroes in the lines. Ms. Marvel being the only costumed 'Hero' still, is extremely lame. X-23 better be getting a figure in X-Men Origins then. Some Academy X/New X-Men would be nice too. Well, here's hoping to them for the future. Cause as it stands for me, I'm going to end up getting even more finicky with the figures now. I hope DarkHawk made it into the final cut for future waves since he wasn't even on the list. |

She is an amusing choice though! I can't help but wonder if that's some kind of vengeful fallout for Brand New Day.

I'm glad for Mary Jane as we may have not even gotten one then. I'm sure the other heroes/villains will be made eventually. |

Mary Jane is one of the most well known and liked "bystanders" in comics. No reason to not have her.

winter soldier will rock, and i've always felt havok was a cool looking character. i'm not as pumped for mystique or archangel because i feel like popular x-characters will get made eventually. a comic style mj will be a great hostage.. i mean addition in the universe . seriously though, we need more 3 3/4 pedestrians, so mj is supercool by me. and even though i feel like archangel would have been made anyway, he always makes for bad@$$ figures. overall, i look at the results and they're not too shabby.
btw, how many waves will wolvierigins have, anyway? Last edited by uberlad; 03-17-2009 at 08:13 PM.. |

I'm disappointed with most of the picks but Mary Jane is just the kicker. Who the hell wants Mary Jane?

So, what does this mean? Are they going to produce these figures?

No, I mean X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Their Astonishing X-Men Cyclops for wave 3, and Iceman are exactly the type of X-Men figures I'm looking forward to. As I said, secret wars excluded. Cyclops was in the secret wars as were other Mutants. And the MJ Spidey twopack would have come eventually it always does. Just like we'll probably see a jean grey cyke one down the line, then cyke and emma, and eventually Rogue and Gambit. Those are Icons, it's like having a Marvel line and not making wolverine or spiderman, it just doesn't happen. It'd be nice if the line actually had a better representation of female heroes though than they have done. Firestar and Ms. Marvel are awesome, but two out of how many? As for my comparison to X-Men origins, I actually prefer the balljoints they use over Marvel Universe for some. Deadpool gets way better poses now than he would have in MU, as does wolverine over his MU counterpart, and Black Panther from MU can't do any of the poses he should be able to. At least cap and Ironman came out awesome though. So it's mostly a mixed bag. Archangel in either one wouldn't really matter though, havoc maybe if he's as limited as black panther is. So yeah, what I said still stands. Toy Biz had done that right in the early days before they got in over their heads with so many sublines. Two is perfect. X-Men, and rest of Marvel. I'm talking late 80s early 90s Toy Biz, not the X-men/X-force era that followed. It also keeps a steady flow of figures without being overabundant. Hopefully every figure will be made. But I don't think many of us want to wait 2-4 years for our favorite characters to be made. Some fans aren't even MU friendly, just as some aren't X-Men friendly, so that divide would keep all kinds of fans happy. Though if they improved the joint work in some of the MU's that should have it like they said they would initially (and shown they did with Spiderman, Cap, and even DD). But how the heck did panther slip through the cracks on that? It's not like I'm saying we need bishop and shard two packs, or even any real obscure characters like the grasshopper. Just some real MU heroines or obscures would be nice as opposed to this list which except for Havoc, is all would have gotten one eventually anyway figures. Yes, MJ included. Jameson I would have voted on if he were on the list though. I don't think he's ever gotten a fig period. I own the previous MJ figs, so I'd rather have more heroes and villians before even worrying about bystanders. Jonah gets excused since he created the scorpion and other spidey issues. xD Honestly, I would have prefered Gwen Stacy or even the Black Cat over MJ. Nothing against MJ, just as I said, she would have had a figure sooner or later anyway. Gwen Stacy may never, and they already have the goblin and spidey. Thank god for two more slots still. I hope Archangel is in his current X-force outfit.
Would like to see the rest of X-force as figures too (Hence I voted for X-23 and Domino).
