Round Two of Hasbro's 2009 Marvel Q&A is just around the corner. With Marvel Universe selling at break neck speed and Marvel Legends 2-Packs hitting shelves there should be plenty of Questions for Hasbro. If you would like to submit a Question for the Marvel Q&A you must post them by Friday, April 10th, with answers to our 5 submitted Questions due back later in the Month.
To Post a Question click the Discuss Button. Yes we know we missed last rounds Q&A but here is your chance to catch up with the rest of us. I was to busy getting Married!

1) I understand the multiple reasons to keep certain product information gaurded, but why has the customer communication regarding products confirmed for release been so poor? For example, it's been known for some time that the second series of Marvel Legend two packs is coming out through Diamond Distributors (and we're happy to see them) and possibly Toys R Us. So far there are 3 sets listed with none of the suoer-cool variants to be heard of, as well as the exclusion of the Storm sibling 2-pack. Also the release dates have not been consistant, as we've heard anything from April to August.
Are we going to see these much anticipated variants? When will they ship and where can we purchase them? Would it be that difficult to offer a Press Release to e-tailers and Online news sites to help inform those who have followed the Marvel Legends line? Also, pertaining to the communication issue, what happened to the Nemisis Wave of Marvel Legends? In a previous Q&A it was mentioned that WalMart had these, but so far only Canadian E-tailers have had them available, and to recieve them in the states it requires about a 100% mark-up. Are we going to see these State Side or not? 2)Are there any plans to issue notice of how or what is needed for redemption of the MU Nick Fury Mail away? I'm kinda sick of having to hang onto my trash. |

First, congrats Destro. I don't remember if I said it before.
And second, I'll just repeat a couple of questions from the first round: 1. What other characters can we look forward to in the Marvel Universe/Fury Files line? Will there be more multi-packs like Secret Wars? 2. Are there any plans to introduce other size classes for the Marvel Crossovers line, such as an ultra/leader Galactus/Taa-II?

I'm trying to think of questions that we don't already have the answer to.
I don't think we should waste questions on: anything Legends related (other than Nemesis/2 packs) SDCC exclusives (we'll see them as soon as they're ready) distibution issues (only certain icons in certain areas?) pricing issues(unless we just want to get an idea of an MSRP) What does that leave?? 1. Is the Walmart exclusive Gigantic battles series only 1 wave, or 2? Is it a concept that could be expanded/continued if it sells well? I've heard it reported as Captain Bucky/Giant Skrull and Classic Iron Man/Giant Man only or also with a second series with Human Torch(Silver Surfer?)/Galactus and Wolverine/Sentinel. 2. "X-Men Origins:Wolverine": Any info on the release date for wave 3, and the Deluxe series? Will there be additional movie characters eventually? Are Iceman, Cyclops, and Unmasked Wolverine the only new characters in wave 3? Is the line currently planned to continue past wave 3? 3. When will the Deadpool Mighty Mugg be released, and are ALL Mighty Muggs going to be TRU exclusive, or only Star Wars? 4. Is the red/yellow variant of Juggernaut (from the Classic Spiderman series) still going to be released? 5. Any chance we can get a more frequent Q+A going? it seems like we get 5-6 per year, where some other lines are monthly. 6. Any new news on mail-away Nick Fury?? 7. Which characters remain in the Secret Wars 2 packs? What's the MSRP on Secret Wars 2 packs? 8. What's up with the Nemesis wave??? 9. Age Of Apocalypse Sunfire has been turning up at close-out stores(Marshall's/Tuesday Morning) lately. Is the figure considered more of a success or a failure? What does it mean for future website exclusives? 10. With the release of army builder figures in the Marvel Universe line, would it be a possibility to offer multiple packs on Hasbrotoyshop.com? I believe it's been done for Star Wars(Clone Troopers?) and maybe G.I.Joe in the past. 11. Where is the Hydra Agent shown at Toy Fair going to be released? |

1. Will there be more female heroes/villains released?
2. Are other comic pack series besides Secret Wars might be planned (House of M, Age of Apocalypse, Secret Invasion, World War Hulk, etc.)? 3. Is Hasbro planning on doing more variants of current figures (Example: War Machine, the Silver Savage, USAgent, Beta Ray Bill, etc.)? 4. Is Hasbro or any major retail chain planning on making any Marvel Universe army builder sets (SHIELD agents, Ultimatum soldiers, Hellfire mercenaries, Steelskull troopers, etc.)? 5. With the success of the recent Marvel 70 poll, is Hasbro considering doing another poll anytime soon to determine future figure picks? |

1-Any chance for a Dark Avengers box set?
2-Any chance for a X-Force(current team) box set? It could include easy repaints of Wolverine and Archangel. 3-Are there going to be changes made to future Hulk figures? The hips basically just rotate, as opposed to moving. 4-Will comic packs continue beyond Secret Wars? 5-Is the Sentinel from Marvel VS Capcom 2 off limits? |

With the new 3 3/4 Marvel scale can we expect to see any vehicles or playsets in the near future? (Avengers Tower, Quinjet, Baxter Building, Shield Cars, etc. . .)
Any chance we might see ROM?

is there any chance of settling on one main articulation style across the marvel u and movie-based marvel lines? i'd hate to have half of my x-men with t-bars and half with hip ball joints. i understand certain character may have different articulation needs (a la the hulk), but i'd like consistency if possible.

I asked them this question at NYCC and ToyFair and they said no plans in 2009. If the line sells (and it is) you can bet the play sets are on the way.

^ That would be awesome, but I would want Circuit Breaker first.
Who knows, maybe Spike, Buster, Carly and Sparkplug can make up a Witwicky 4-pack as well.

They are officially all going TRU exclusive. Hasbro is now answering this when you e-mail them at their website. (Granted, it took them a month to get back to me, but they confirmed it.)

1) Any chance of multiple head packs (ala Beachhead from the GI Joe 25th line)? I would love to get Skrull head swap outs.
2) Beyond the pick 5 (of 70) will there be any similar fan choice picks (as many fan favs were missing such as Task Master (v1 and v2), Deathlok, Stryfe, Sinister, Cyber, Nth Man and on and on)? A fan generated list and voting mechanism would rock. 3) Will the scale stay relatively the same (as the Showdown sets went from 3.75" to about 4.25" from waves 1 to 2 for example)? 4) Will we see any Marvel 2099 in 2009?

1. What is the fate of the Johnny Storm/Invisible Woman ML 2pack?
2. Why is the MU Ms. Marvel figure lacking bicep swivel? All female figures in the GI Joe line have this articulation, as do some of them in the Star Wars line. Will this articulation be added to future female MU figures? 3. Why do the characters picked for the Secret Wars packs not match the events of the included issue? For instance, Klaw doesn't appear in SW until about halfway through the series, yet he's in the first wave of packs. I'm not complaining, since I've always wanted a good Klaw figure. Just curious. 4. Since the Marvel Universe line is centering around Secret Invasion (for now), why aren't there any Skrulls in it? 5. Will the MU Gigantic Battles be exclusive to Walmart or only certain packs? Will other retailers be able to order different (or future) Gigantic Battles? 6. Can you make sure that future MU figures of characters that are physical fighters (ie martial artists) have 2 fists instead of one or none? 7. Can you also adjust the hips of MU figures to allow for more movement of the upper leg? Early GI Joe figures add the same "diaper" crotch problem with the lower portion of the pelvis restricting upward movement of the legs. Look at black Spider-Man as an example. He can't raise his legs too far forward without his pelvis restricting the movement. This was adjusted for in the Joe line. Can we expect a similar adjustment in MU? |

Even though the line is based on the Secret Invasion, since there are the comic packs based on the Secret Wars, are there any plans for any more villians such as Juggernaut, Venom, Apocolypse, Kingpin, and the like?

I would think that little tidbit would be front page material. Certainly newsworthy. Could you post a copy of the email you got from them?

given the cost-to-value ratio in this line compared to Star Wars and Joe, especially the upcoming Joe moviefigures, it'd be really nice to see more accesories for our $8 ~ alternate hands, unmasked heads and stands would be at the top of my list ~ any plans in that regard?
any plans to convert to the metal T-bar for the crotch as a standard? the plastic one in Iron Man and Iron Fist feels like it's going to break everytime i move it and is not terribly posable as it tends to want to snap back into place after being moved. my question from last time: Have you considered working with Diamond and Marvel to offer figures exclusively with Graphic novels? for example, a limited edition of the Secret Invasion graphic novel that came with a skrulled-out Spider-Woman (nice since it's just a head remold). Seems like it would help promote both the MU line and the comics themselves (sort of an "inversion" of the comic pack concept.) |

These are our Questions to Big-H
Quote:
Can you tell us what is needed for redemption of the MU Nick Fury Mail away? Most importantly what part of the package?
Is there any further details on the MU Gigantic Battles like the first wave assortment and images? Since the line is called Marvel Universe any chances of seeing other Hasbro/Marvel Comic characters from comics. Sectors, Transformers, G.I. Joe, MASK, Visionaries ect....? "X-Men Origins:Wolverine": Any info on the release date for wave 3, and the Deluxe series? Will there be additional movie characters eventually? Are Iceman, Cyclops, and Unmasked Wolverine the only new characters in wave 3? Is the line currently planned to continue past wave 3? When will the Deadpool Mighty Mugg be released, and are ALL Mighty Muggs going to be TRU exclusive, or only Star Wars?

The first question has been asked over and over. It was asked by a few
different forums in the last Q&A. Hasbro answer: Details are still being finalized..an announcement about the Nick Fury Exclusive Figure Program will be forthcoming soon.

And ZeroVGM got a letter directly from Hasbro answering question #5. All future Mighty Muggs are supposed to be TRU exclusives.
Still waiting to see if he could post a copy of Hasbro's response, though.
