Marvel 2010 Press Release By Hasbro
SPIDER-MAN SWINGS INTO THE RANKS OF 3 ¾ INCH ACTION FIGURES Marvel’s Super Hero Squad Earns a Starring Role in Hasbro’s 2010 Toy Line PAWTUCKET, R.I. (February 12, 2010) – Whether it’s SPIDER-MAN saving neighborhoods one web at a time or the SUPER HERO SQUAD united in the fight against the dastardly DOCTOR DOOM, Marvel’s Super Heroes continue to be wildly popular around the globe. As Hasbro (NYSE: HAS) swings into 2010, its new Marvel toy line lets kids experience the thrill and excitement of protecting the world from evil-doers. Action figure enthusiasts will cheer the news that the SPIDER-MAN action figure line – for the first time ever – will be featured in the much-loved 3 ¾ inch scale. Beyond SPIDER-MAN figures outfitted in mission-specific suits, the toy line includes multiple vehicles to help SPIDER-MAN as he chases bad guys. The new SPIDER-MAN TRIPLE BATTLE TRUCK changes from one form to another so that the pursuit can continue on land, in the air, and on the sea. Loaded with electronic lights and sounds, the battle-ready vehicle even contains a projectile-firing web cannon to overcome the villain. The new animated series SUPER HERO SQUAD is a smash hit with boys and features several of Marvel’s most loved heroes as they fight against the network of villains known as the Lethal Legion. In addition to the popular SUPER HERO SQUAD figures, the 2010 toy line features new vehicles including the SUPER HERO HEADQUARTERS, allowing kids to recreate their favorite scenes from the animated series and expand the fantasy play. And Marvel Universe continues to have a touch of MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE fun as MARVEL UNIVERSE TRANSFORMERS CROSSOVERS change from action figures into awesome vehicles. In 2010, IRON MAN and WAR MACHINE action figures combine to create a jet while other heroes convert into race cars and motorcycles. A sample of Hasbro’s Marvel products available in 2010 SPIDER-MAN 3 ¾” ACTION FIGURES (Approximate Retail Price: $7.99; Ages 4 & up; Available: Spring 2010) Take on GREEN GOBLIN and VENOM with an all-new lineup of wonderfully styled SPIDER-MAN 3 ¾” ACTION FIGURES in 2010! It seems like they have a really good handle on what they are doing but I am really expecting them to hit hard with the Marvel Univerese figures and really please a lot of fans out there. (Nova!)
I occationally pick up a few squadies of my favorite characters and hopefully they pull out some more cool characters (Rocket Racoon!) As for the other lines? Eh, not impressed. The 3 3/4 Scale Spiderman series only supplies me with more option for customs but does not really hit me as a collector. The Transformers line is such a big dissapointment. I never really cared for the idea of Transformers/Star Wars + Transformers. Iron Man 2 line? Well, I already picked up the classic Iron Man but this line hopefully will not go all out like Wolverine did. I am always afraid of them producing these figure and not making them completely articulated and then going on to NOT produce them in the Marvel Universe line (VENOM). Things will look better next week when they reveal some new Gigantic Battles and a TON of new and unexpected MU figures.

It's funny, I read in an interview that a toy critic was really impressed with their numbering system, "001", placing two decimals before the number, indicting that the line can theoretically go up to 999. Soooo if they ever do get that far, or even close to it I'm praying they remake all the XMO, IM2 and SM 3/34 figures into MU |

I agree. I really only collect MU and use any sidelines to "supplement" any characters I doubt they may remake within the MU line. And even if they do make an MU Venom, Maverick, Deadpool, Warmachine, Sabertooth etc etc, then I still consider it an investment that I took in at least insuring that my 3 3/4 line was as expansive as possible.

I totally agree. MU is the only line I really go for but like you I'll use other 3 3/4 lines to supplement my MU world as that is my goal in this collection: to try and create my own little MU universe. That being said, there are so many characters that MU may never get to that these "side lines" make for a good way to add to my universe. Hopefully some of those will see MU treatment but if not I love having so many lines in basic scale together to help my universe grow. Can't wait to see what MU has in store for us in the coming year.
So since I'm stuck in the blizzard of the century here and not at Toy Fair When can I look forward to seeing pictures/getting updates on Marvel products? |

Well, at least two of my customs in the works can wait. Was going to use the tentacled Spidey from the Spidey line to make Iron Spider and was going to make a super skrull out of about 3 figures so an actual Skrull will make that one easier.

So far, all look awesome. People keep saying this is a lame toy fair. But I gotta say, there's just so much awesome! Between Drift, MU, and everything else. Hasbro is making me sooooooooo Happy. |

Okay, my impressions so far of Marvel shown by hasbro.
IM2: Awesome. My armory isn't selling at all right now, which is perfect as it can be filled up in order now. Silver Centurion, alternate red and gold armor, modern armor, the guardsman is sweet too, titanium man, and that hall of armor target exlcusive might get me excited for even the movie figures. The K-mart 3 pack is debatable too. Though I'm digging cap armor, and the other two. The new armor up 3 6'' pack makes me giggle a little. It's a pass. But the space armor looks like deadpool armor. xD MU: Mary Jane is almost a skip. I don't like the cowboy boots look, wish the jeans went lower, but I do have an extra logan figure, maybe I can fix that on mine. Iron Patriot is so bought. Finally and so awesome, dark Ms. marvel too? Dark wolverine and venom even sentry! That's 5 Dark avengers! Total 5 of 7. Hope his assitant is like the nick fury figure. I'm sold on all already. Thanos is a skip, but I'm glad to see more cosmic, now do nova and darkhawk! Galactus may make me get thanos though. That's still a big winner. Finally in october! Winter soldier I'm indifferent on. But he's a poll winner. Havok looks great, but he was in toyfare already. The target two packs are utter win too. Finally not toys r us. Someplace that has great employees. Black widow with short hair variant, and another variant nice! And the rest we saw in the toyfare preview already. But that gives us a run down of the waves to come till after 4. The target 2 packs looks sweet as heck too. Finally a Black Panther with cape. But who is that in the other pack with Ironman? SHS: I will be getting that helicarrier. I'm not even a fan of SHS toys, but I will be getting it for my minimates! Marvel Transformers: Ghostrider is so bought. And I don't even collect this line but I will get him in a heartbeat. I'm completely sold on that Ironman combiner. That motorcycle is just too sweet, might have to get a bunch to repaint. That's perfection. Tron meet ironman meets Transformers. Legends: Not my cup of tea. Last edited by Snowflakian; 02-13-2010 at 09:31 PM.. |

2 packs Dark Phoenix/Cyclops Black “Spider-Man” Venom/Daken Sentry/Spider-Man I swear in the name of all that is holy, if that venom with daken is really just another black spiderman I'm going to be so angry. At least give him Guardian's body so he looks more like Mac. |
